Awach Saving and Credit Collaborative invites interested and qualified applicants for the following job positions.  Awach SACCO Is a saving and credit collaborative established on 13/07/1999E.C. in Arada Sub-city by Mr. Zerihun Sheleme, founder and general manager with 41  original members. having in mind a long-range objective of encouraging saving mobilization culture and loan provision in the community with a strong commitment and belongingness, coupled with the shared fancies of the founders; Awach became a truly serving financial institution within many years after its establishment.  

Position 1 Construction Engineer  

Qualifications 

  • BSc or MSc in Construction technology and management or civil engineering  
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the construction industry 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills  

Experience 

  • 6 years  

Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and evaluate tenders for construction projects on behalf of the Awach 
  • Maintain and update detailed site records, including progress reports, site  examinations, and quality control documentation 
  • Monitor the contractor’s progress against the project schedule and ensure adherence to agreed-upon timelines 
  • Administer contracts concluded with advisers  and contractors,  icing compliance with terms and conditions 
  • Verify payment requests from contractors and consultants, icing accuracy and adherence to contractual terms 
  • Organize and facilitate meetings with project stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and  customer representatives 
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications 
  • Resolve any contractual disputes or issues that may arise during the design implementation phase 
  • Collaborate with Awach to provide regular  design updates and address any concerns or issues promptly 
  • Coordinate with applicable parties to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and completion within  popular constraints 
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on construction sites 
  • Provide guidance and support to the project team, including contractors and consultants, to ensure successful  design implementation 
  • Keep up to date with industry stylish practices and regulations related to contract management and construction supervision 

Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation to track project progress and communicate findings to the customer and stakeholders.

Position 2 Senior Accountant

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting 
  • Experience and certificate in Peachtree accounting software. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance in construction project 
  • Knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and standards 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Experience in auditing and financial reporting is a plus.  

Experience 

  • 2 years ’ experience  

Responsibilities 

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. 
  • Supervise and mentor inferior accounting staff. 
  • Prepare and dissect financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. 
  • Perform complex reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. 
  • Review and approve financial transactions and journal entries. 
  • payroll preparation, making payments, reporting taxes and pensions to the concerned government body, handling all government taxes,  
  • preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with Ethiopian tax regulations
