ERC is responsible for both passenger and freight transportation.
The Ethiopian Railroads Corporation (ERC) was founded on 20 November 2007, following regulation 141/2007 enacted by the Council of Ministers of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. This regulation empowers ERC to enhance railway infrastructure and deliver passenger and freight rail transport services throughout Ethiopia.
