Kerchanshe specializes in coffees sourced from Yirgacheffe, Lekemti, Gimbi, Jimma, and Sidamo, names that represent fine Arabica coffee.
Since its founding 15 years ago, Kerchanshe has built a reputation for fair trade and excellent customer service. Now, the company employs over 1,250 permanent staff and 10,000 seasonal staff.

Position 1: Junior Electrician  

Job Summary: A Junior Electrician is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
The role supports senior electricians to ensure smooth electrical operations while following safety standards and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:  
• Assist in installing and repairing electrical wiring, systems, and equipment.

• Support maintenance activities for electrical machines and equipment.

• Help diagnose basic electrical faults and troubleshoot issues.

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.

• Read and follow electrical drawings and instructions under supervision.

• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.

• Ensure workplace safety procedures are followed at all times.

• Report electrical problems and maintenance needs to supervisors.

• Assist senior electricians during emergency repairs and installations.

• Keep records of maintenance and repair activities. Education:  
• TVET Diploma or level IV or mechanical engineering

Position 2: Senior Mechanic  

Job Summary: A Senior Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, machinery, or mechanical equipment to ensure efficient operation.
The role includes supervising junior mechanics, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring all mechanical work is completed safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:  
• Have adequate mechanical knowledge and experience in coffee processing, industry manufacturing equipment, and their applications.

• Prepare mechanical preventive maintenance plans according to manufacturer manuals (pumps, generators, compressors, and coffee machinery).

• Have applicable computer knowledge or experience.

• Have good experience and understanding of manufacturer manuals to perform all mechanical maintenance as per instructions.

• Have experience in handling challenging mechanical assignments under the guidance of seniors.

• Have experience in processing and preparing timely reports and updates.

• Have good communication skills to regularly interact with team members, leaders, and technicians.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

• Have adequate knowledge in manufacturing industry engineering, safety, and health issues.

• Replace defective mechanical parts and components when necessary.

• Maintain maintenance records and service reports.

Education:  
• BSc Degree or Diploma in Electro-Mechanical/Mechanical Engineering or related field  

Experience:  
• Minimum 2 years’ experience for degree holders or 4 years for diploma holders in coffee processing industry operation and must have worked with Cimbria color sorters and machines.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, engines, and equipment maintenance.

Position 3: Senior Electrician  

Job Summary: A Senior Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment.
The role also involves supervising junior electricians, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting smooth electrical operations within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:  
• Have adequate electrical knowledge and experience in coffee processing industry equipment and their applications.

• Have applicable computer knowledge or experience.

• Have good experience and understanding of manufacturer manuals to perform all mechanical maintenance as per instructions.

• Carry out preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery electrical parts of generators, pumps, control panel boards, compressors, and other related machines.

• Prepare accurate technical service reports.

• Support sites with technical advice and maintenance recommendations.

• Identify additional service and parts opportunities during maintenance.

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.

• Diagnose electrical faults and perform troubleshooting activities.

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, diagrams, and technical specifications.

• Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards and regulations.

• Supervise and support junior electricians and technicians.

• Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical systems and machinery.

• Monitor electrical equipment performance and minimize downtime.

• Coordinate with maintenance and production teams during operations.

• Maintain records of maintenance activities and repairs.

• Ensure proper use of electrical tools and safety equipment.

• Respond quickly to emergency electrical breakdowns

Education:  
• BSc Degree or Diploma in Electro-Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field  

Experience:  
• Minimum 3 years’ experience for degree holders or 5 years for diploma holders in processing industry operation  
• Strong knowledge of industrial and commercial electrical systems  
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical manuals  
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills  
• Willingness to work in field environments and travel when required

Position 4: Machine Operator  

Job Summary: A Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining machinery used in production or manufacturing processes.
The role ensures machines run efficiently, products meet quality standards, and workplace safety procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities:  
• Operate production machines and equipment safely and efficiently.

• Set up machines before production starts.

• Monitor machine performance during operation.

• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.

• Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of machines.

• Identify and report machine malfunctions or technical issues.

• Maintain production records and daily reports.

• Follow company safety rules and operational procedures.

• Reduce machine downtime and material wastage.

• Work closely with supervisors and maintenance teams.

• Operate Cimbria machines and the Cimbria color sorter.
