BACKGROUND  The International Rescue Committee, one of numerous world’s largest philanthropic NGOs, gives reduction, rehabilitation, and improvement help to weak individuals and communities over 30  transnational locations. Position Child Protection Assistant  

Job Overview  

  • The placeholder is responsible for implementing a community-based youngster protection program on the Bambasi IDP website. The placeholder will help all features of the prevention and response actions of this system that embody working with the community, psychosocial help actions and Minely lead the case administration service in collaboration with the Woreda Bureau of Girls and Children Affairs ( BOWCA).  

Major Responsibilities

Case management  

• Provide teaching, mentoring and specialized help to the woreda BOWCA on youngster safety case management all through the case administration steps.  

• Assist the BOWCA team in the evaluation of the dwelling circumstances of youngsters within the IDP website and take part in the development of an applicable technique in addressing their wants.  

• Support workforce leaders and social staff of BOWCA within the monitoring, verification, and attestation of circumstances of youngsters.  

• Follow-up- on the preparation and implementation of the case motion plan and home go-to performed by the social staff.  

• Carry out data Entry into the Child Protection Information System( CPIMS) database and share compiled reports on the triweekly foundation.  

• Support the BOWCA child safety officer in facilitating and organizing respectable care arrangements, and an applicable colorful care system with shut supervision and a spotlight to the personal considerations of youngsters.  

• Through working with CP committees establish implicit foster households for lonely and promised kids in collaboration with social staff and community leaders.  

• Participate in BID Pannels with other partners, in conducting the Stylish Interest Assessment to make sure the wants of youths are addressed.  

• Assist the BOWCA workplace youngster safety workforce as wanted.  

Other extra tasks  

• Organize and facilitate formative parenting daily classes.(Family Makes the Difference!)  

• Assist the child rights golf equipment to reveal to the neighborhood and the regarding our bodies about safety considerations that kids are dealing with and promote the participation of youngsters in all issues affecting their lives.  

• Organize and help psychosocial help actions at( the Safe Healing and Learning Space( SHLS).  

• Work carefully with the CP Officer in the celebration of international occasion days and different awareness-raising classes.  

• Facilitate the involvement of youngsters and the neighborhood (leaders and oldsters) within the child-friendly house and doc the progress made.  

• Support the preparation of funds, work, and spending plans, and PR monitoring to oversee the correct utilization of the funds and well-timed implementation of actions.  

• Adhere and abide by the kid safety code of conduct.  

• Shall take any redundant tasks as requested by supervisors. 

Key Working Relationships  

• The placeholder will directly report back to the Child Protection Officer with redundant oversight from the Asossa area fellow and specialized help from CP managers based in Addis Ababa.  

Job Requirements  

• Apply introductory to intermediate stage data of procedural and systems to carry out the requirement of the job abilities and data typically acquired via a mix of job-related coaching, some on-the-job experience, and formal education.  

• University Degree in Social Science, Social Work, Psychology/ Sociology with 2 years of applicable work experience for diploma holders or 0- years of applicable work experience for first degree  

• NGO experience is a plus.  

• Fluent in spoken and written English, and Amharic languages  

• Experience in capacity building and mentoring.  

• Good digital literacy in MS Word and Excel.  

• Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills and suppleness.  

• Good understanding of CP program approaches and applications.  

• Confirmed experience in growing competency-based coaching modules!

• Fluent spoken and written native language is a plus
