Safaricom Ethiopia would like to invite competent and interested candidates for the ensuing position.  

Position 1: IT Business Analyst  

Must have specialized professional qualifications  Degree in Science/ computer science, Engineering/ Business related.  

At least 2 years of broad specialized background, inclusive of databases, applications, Infrastructure, cloud, development, enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, and system design experience  

Professional Experience in Business Analysis( CBAP, IIBA) as well as software development lifecycle is preferred, in nimble (SAFe, Scrum) and waterfall methodologies.  

A  regular approach with proven experience designing and delivering complex, specialized roadmaps  

Understanding of working with 3rd party suppliers  

Strong business acumen and mindset  

Ability to persuade stakeholders and to champion effective techniques through delivery  Ability to drive initiatives without any formal authority in a nebulous environment  Ability to guide and teach others in architecture principles.  

Working knowledge of all domains in telecoms, including VAS, Charging, CRM, and Digital Services

Position 2: IT Solutions Architect  

Must have specialized professional qualifications  Degree in Science/ computer science, Engineering/ Business related is preferred.  

At least 2 years of broad specialized background, inclusive of databases, operations, Infrastructure, cloud, development, enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, and system design experience  

Experience as an  inventor, systems engineer, or delivery lead is preferred  A

 regular approach with proven experience designing and delivering complex, specialized roadmaps  Strong business  wit and mindset  , Ability to persuade stakeholders and to support effective techniques through delivery  

Ability to drive initiatives without any formal authority in a nebulous environment  

Ability to guide and teach others in architectural principles

Position 3: Facility Lead  Internal/ External)  

Must have specialized professional qualifications: A degree in Property & Facilities management or- oriented field.  

Have over 6 years of post-graduation work with at least 3 years in an administrative or directorial role.  

Strong organizational, executive, and communication skills.  

Experience in vendor management, invoice processing, and payment coordination.  

Ability to effectively coordinate multiple vendors and manage service level agreements.  

Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards related to facility operations.  

Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with facility management systems or ERP tools.  

Strong problem-  working chops and attention to detail.  

Customer service is acquainted with the capability to work collaboratively across departments.  

Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude, with a strong commitment to teamwork and service excellence.

Position 4: Senior Manager MPESA Finance  Internal/ External)  

Education & Experience  : Business/IT-related degree from a recognized university.  Good Accountant with CPA( K)/ ACCA/ CIMA/ ACA.  5 – 8 years post-qualification experience in fiscal services with specialization in the area of mobile money.  

A strategic thinker, innovative, shaping processes, people, and systems.  

Innovative person proven in simplification, digitalization, and automation of processes & tasks.

Position 5: Administrative Head of Department – Financial Business Partnering – Commercial (Internal/ External)  

Must have specialized professional qualifications  Applicable Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance. Rather, at least 8 years of experience with, and deep knowledge of, commercial underpinning the telecoms or similar sector.  

10 years of broad, progressive experience in all facets of Finance, i.e., Management Accounting, Forecasting and Planning, Financial Accounting, and Finance Operations.  

Excellent: Commercial acumen and experience.

Position 6: Specialist Customer Value Management (CVM) Development and Operations  

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.  3 years of experience in data development, ETL workflows, or campaign platform operations.  

Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, or original container orchestration systems.  

Experience with CI/ CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, ArgoCD, FluxCD), Git- based workflows, and automation scripts.  

Strong knowledge of SQL/ PLSQL, with the ability to write and debug complex queries and stored procedures.

Hands-on experience with Linux server administration and shell scripting for job automation and monitoring.  

Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and deployment on virtualized or cold-blooded environments.  

Experience in monitoring tools, log analysis, and root cause analysis for system incidents.  Understanding of customer lifecycle platforms, CVM campaign orchestration, and telecom marketing flows is a plus.  

Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/ Ansible) is highly desirable.  

Coding experience using Java/Python/ R/ SQL/SQL  

Experience in collecting, storing, processing, and analysing large volumes of data.

Complete understanding of databases at the logical, physical, and abstract levels.  

Understanding of big data technologies.

Position 7: Specialist Business Intelligence Development and Operations  

Qualifications: BSc/ BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or applicable field  

Background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modelling). In-depth understanding of database operation systems, online logical processing (OLAP), and ETL( prize, transform, load) framework.  

Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI)  

Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)  

Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative 

An analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.

Position 8: Senior Accountant- Credit Controller (Internal/ External)  

Education & Experience  Accounting or related Finance bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. ACCA will be an added advantage.  3- 4 years’ experience in a Credit Control executive and/ or account management role, with debt management experience in a well-run company working with multiple business partners. Proven experience & good understanding of debt acquisition and management, and also experience in building complex financial models to evaluate colorful financial plans.  

Experience in Oracle or any other ERP

Position 9: Administrative Head of Department – Business Assurance( Internal/ External)  

Must have specialized professional qualifications 

A graduate with a degree in Economics, Commerce, Engineering, or IT.  Professional certification in Auditing, accounting, risk management, or information systems will be an added advantage.  

Applicable post-graduate education is an added advantage 

Have at least 7 years’ experience in Assurance, Risk Management, and/ or operation of business process enhancement.  

Ability to analyze significant amounts of data and information and distill it to the crucial points that help senior management analyze risk in a given situation.

Ability to accumulate, summarize, and interpret risk reports from business units, support units, and assurance units.  

Have strong business acumen and highly advanced commercial experience. 

Experience in strategic decision making, highly developed interpersonal and communication skills  

High-level experience and skills working with stakeholders, fiscal Responsibility 

Development and Monitoring of the Revenue Assurance budget.

Position 10: Administrative Head of Digital and Lifestyle (Internal/ External)  

Must have specialized professional qualifications  

Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Digital Transformation, or a related field( master’s degree preferred). 

Experience: Minimum of 8- 10 years of experience in digital marketing, customer loyalty, or CRM, within the telecommunications or service industry.  

Proven track record of leading large-scale digital fidelity programs, from conception to prosecution.  

Experience in using data analytics to design and optimize customer loyalty strategies.  Strong understanding of Loyalty programs on mobile apps and digital platform ecosystems, and user engagement strategies.  Fiscal Responsibility  Digital and Lifestype Budgets, Other DoAs as applicable.

Position 11 Senior Accountant – Accounts Payable( Internal/ External) 

Must have specialized professional qualifications 

A graduate with an applicable degree in specialized, business, and accounting fields from an  honored university. 2 Years’ work experience in an analogous role 

Preferably a Qualified Accountant with a CPA.

Position 12: Associate Legal Counsel( Internal/ External)  

Education & Experience: LLB in Law, 2- 3 years’ experience.  

Responsible for providing legal advice to applicable business units in a manner that fully protects the company’s legal interests and manages all associated risk. This includes negotiating and drafting sound agreements, and, in the event of litigation, ensuring that this process is managed efficiently and effectively, and that applicable expertise is available to ensure success.

Position 13: HR Business Partner (Internal/ External)  

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience  – 8 years’ applicable experience as a Human Resources generalist, as well as proven experience in the management of a Human Resources section/ division – essential  years’ experience as an HR professional interfacing with senior leadership in a commercial environment 

Foundational knowledge and/ or experience in Change management, people, and organization plans  

Exposure to coaching leaders for behaviour change  

Must have specialized professional qualifications

Degree in Business Management or related field e.g., Human Resources, Personnel Management, Artificial Psychology, Business Management, Economics, etc.) – essential

A post-graduate qualification will be profitable.
