Save the Children is a transnational philanthropic, child-centered, development organization, without religious, political, or governmental affiliation. In 1920, the International Save the Children Union was founded in Geneva by two organizations, together with several other bodies working for children – some using the Save the Children name or an original variant. Over the years, Save the Children Members were created around the world, embodying Eglantyne and Dorothy’s vision. Today, Save the Children and its 30 member organizations work to deliver change for children in around 120 countries. The organization delivers its programs internationally to achieve the topmost possible impact for children. It has a small center and seven indigenous offices. The members work together to campaign for better outcomes for children and to deliver programs at scale to support children.

Job Requirements
Diploma/ BA in accounting.
At least 1 year for Diploma holders and 0 years for BA of experience working as Program facilitator and cashier roles.
Very Good interpersonal skills.
Very Good spoken English.

Computer skill
Afaan Oromoo language skills are mandatory. The incumbent of this position represents SC's values and principles in interactions with staff and external audiences. These values and principles include a commitment to Save the Children's transnational mission, platoon exposure, quality management, and leadership development, and introducing systems and procedures to strengthen staff provocation and productivity. The job holder will be primarily responsible for supporting the design staff in facilitating cash payment for different conditioning for active project implementation and involvement with the community and partners for smooth and successful implementation of project activities as per the Save the Children Job standards, government, and donor requirements for Wollega Humanitarian Response operations responses. This post focuses on Recovery/ emergency/ philanthropic programming but will be expected to contribute to SCI’s binary accreditation and support as needed in both emergencies and development settings.
Cash collect, disburse, and control petty cash fund
Collect funds and make colorful payments as per the authorization and approval of Budget Holders and by Save the Children’s financial management policy;
Maintain and handle petty cash prepare cash reports to ensure timely replenishment, and prepare receipt/ payment vouchers;
Prepare payment vouchers( for cash and cheque payments) as per approved payment requests and/ or authenticated invoices and receipts by budget holders and present vouchers for verification and approval by the responsible persons. Make cash/ cheque payments only after obtaining approval/ authorization from the operation;
Maintain the bank and cash records either electronically or manually
Effect staff salary upon obtaining approval and instrument from payroll sheets;
Check and pay all office bills for telephone, fax, water, electricity, tax withholdings, and government taxes; Ensure timely settlement of bills;
Assist the Finance officer in the handling of fiscal sales and documentation;
Ensure loans and working advances are maintained and accounted for properly and follow up repayments made accordingly;
Whenever necessary the cashier will make payments at field level for different activities.
