UDP works in about 170 countries and territories, supporting partner countries to achieve the eradication of poverty, the reduction of inequalities, and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). More specifically, UNDP supports partner countries in developing policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities, and building resilience to sustain development results.
UNDP has operated in Ethiopia since 1981. Since also, UNDP has focused on providing Ethiopia with strategic support to build public capacity and enhance the country’s development results in the areas of poverty reduction and profitable growth, popular governance as well as climate- flexible development.
Position: Intern – Innovative Finance Lab
Education
Applicants must have recently graduated with a first- level university degree in Economics, Management, Accounting and Finance, Business Administration, Economic Development, and related fields, and must start the internship within one year of graduation.
Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme aren't required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that's closely related to the type of internship that you're applying for is required.
Understanding of the private sector and investment analysis would be salutary.
Computer knowledgeable in standard software applications (Microsoft Office)
Ability to work for 6 months.
Language
Proficiency in English and Amharic is required.
