Abay Bank has fulfilled all the requirements of the National Bank of Ethiopia to set up a bank, officially established on July 14th, 2010, and started full-fledged banking operations on November 3, 2010.  Currently, paid over-capital of the bank is Birr4.733 Billion/ Four Billion Seven Hundred Thirty three Million Birr as of June 30, 2023, and the number of shareholders reached 4,437/ Four Thousand Four Hundred Thirty Seven.  The Bank is poised to serve all advantageous sectors through its network of branches. Position 1 Procurement Officer  

JOB REQUIREMENT  

BA Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management, Supplies Management, Purchasing and Supplies Management, Management, and Accounting with a minimum of 3 years of procurement-related work experience. The procurement officer is responsible for ensuring that all purchase requests are duly authorized and purchase orders are issued. Collects pro-forma invoices from suppliers by the procurement procedure of the bank and submits to supervisor and purchase committee for decision. Prepares summary for collected pro forma before they're opened. Prepares purchase orders for approved and authorized purchases. Keeps track of those items that couldn't be readily available in the market and advises supervisor to maintain acceptable stock in the store.

Position 2 Customer Service Supervisor Grade- I  

Qualification & Experience BA Degree in in Economics or Accounting or Management or Business Administration Finance and Accounting or other business related field of study with 3 years of experience in Banking operations. The Customer Service Supervisor is responsible for countersigns on ticket vouchers and authorizes transactions. To follow up on all cheque clearance activities and accounts of a suspense nature. Ensure and follow up reconciliation of accounts and other related tasks.  Place of Work Bale Robe Branch

Position 3 Branch Manager – Grade I  

Qualification & Experience BA Degree in Management or Economics Accounting & Finance Marketing Banking & Finance or Business Administration or other business-related field of study with 3( three) years ’ work experience in banking operations, out of which 1 year in an administrative position. The Manager plans and coordinates the overall conditioning of the branch, and follows- up and evaluates the Branch’s operations targets on established performance parameters. He or she motivates and coaches the customer service officers responsible for the delivery of high-quality service. He or she identifies and recruits implicit customers and provides professional advice.  

Place of Work  Branches under Dire Dawa City, Kebri Dehar Branch under Jigjiga City, Wolita Sodo Branch/ Shinshicho Branch/ Bale Robe Branch/ Gambella Branch.  

Position 4 Driver  

Educational Level and Work Experience minimal 12th/ 10th grade complete with 3rd-grade driving license with a minimum of 2 years related work experience. Driver is responsible for transporting authorized passengers and goods from place to place as instructed. Performs routine examination of items. Conduct service checks and inspection while driving vehicles, and reports any irregularities to the immediate supervisor. Performs minor repairs. Records required information similar to mileage traveled, fuel consumed, destination, time of departure, and arrival and submitted to the supervisor. Follows up on the service and conservation schedule. Takes all preventative measures to ensure that passengers and property aren't exposed to damages and accidents. Performs other affiliated duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.  Place of Work Head Office  

Position 5 Risk and Compliance Management Officer  

Educational Level and Work Experience BA Degree Accounting, Economics, Management, Business Administration with a Minimum of 3 years work experience in banking operations.  

Risk and Compliance Management Officer is responsible for reviewing loss and risk trends (inflexibility and frequency). Review applicable research output on the Bank’s process, product, and services from a risk angle. Identifies risks essential in the Bank’s functional system and procedure. Identifies, analyzes, and measures implicit risks, Develops and updates inventory of rules, regulations, guidelines, and practices. Identifies International, and public laws and regulations that affect the operation of the Bank. Analyzes and estimates the consequences of non-compliance, Considers and identifies any uncertainties that lead to compliance.  Place of Work Head Office  

Position 6 Human Capital Management Officer  

Educational Level and Work Experience Minimum BA Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, or Public administration with a minimum of 3 years related work experience in human resource management  

Job Summary The Human Capital Management Officer is responsible for identifying training and development needs within the company through job analysis and appraisal schemes. Design and expand training and development programs based on the needs of the department and the individual. Identify and select applicable training institutions. Develop and support effective induction programs for new staff, apprentices, and graduate trainees. Supervise ongoing training programs. Evaluate training and development programs.

Position 7 Manager – Interest-Free Banking Operations  

Required Qualification MA/ BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, Business Administration, or related field with 6/8 years of banking professional experience of which 4 years should be in an administrative position.  

Job Summary  Manager – Interest-Free Banking Operations is responsible for Developing a draft IFB resource mobilization strategy, guidelines techniques, and collecting and sharing stylish practices and experiences. Prepare IFB deposit performance report of sections/ branches and submit for review. Follow-up the rectification of internal audit report findings and settlement of escalated long outstanding items. Attend to queries of branches in their day-to-day IFB operations. Follow-up timely submission of periodic returns and reports of Districts branches. Regularly assess crucial IFB resource opportunity areas and identify commercial deposit customers. Undertake general duties of the Division( planning, budgeting, coaching and mentoring, supervision, reporting, performance appraisal).
