Position Humanitarian Adviser  

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience 

Knowledge and experience of working on one or further of the sectors covered by the Ethiopia heads to Resilience Programme exigency health, nutrition, WASH, protection, education, and philanthropic cash 

substantiation of furnishing philanthropic analysis and advice to government, international, or public philanthropic associations and/ or benefactors. 

Applicable experience working on philanthropic programs in Ethiopia and a strong understanding of Ethiopian philanthropic programs and armature. 

Experience in influencing programs. 

Excellent interpersonal and platoon working skills, with an ability to work flexibly and acclimatize to arising issues. 

A proven ability to communicate easily and confidently, verbally and in writing.  

Desirable qualifications, skills, and experience 

FCDO assessment is faculty-grounded rather than on years of experience, but previously most successful campaigners have drawn on at least 5- 10 times of applicable humanitarian experience to show sufficient evidence of the required competencies. 

Knowledge and experience of working in fragile and conflict-affected surroundings and on protection issues. 

Masters level qualification in an applicable field, or fresh applicable experience instead of a Master's. 

Amharic and other original languages spoken in Ethiopia

Roles and responsibilities  

In the is part, you'll be expected to 

Provide specialized advice to inform FCDO humanitarian policy and programming. 

Lead for several factors of the Embassy’s flagship ‘ Ethiopia Crisis to Resilience ’multi-sector program covering exigency health, nutrition, WASH, protection, education, and philanthropic cash. You'll ensure the program delivers effectively through UN and NGO  enforcing mates while providing a clear sense of direction and ensuring excellence in program operation. 

Keep the embassy up-to-date on the  philanthropic  sectors you lead, and feed into the formation of  philanthropic policy 

Represent the UK in coordination forum( including applicable clusters) and with the Government of Ethiopia( applicable ministries and the Ethiopia Disaster Risk Management Committee) and crucial international partners. You should be suitable to maintain an effective network within the Ethiopian humanitarian community. 

give cross-cutting analysis and advice to RHT and the wider embassy in the sectors you lead, as required. 

ensure protection risks and a focus on the most vulnerable civilians( including women, children, people with disabilities, and IDPs) are considered in all FCDO  philanthropic programs and policy work. 

Undertake regular field visits( at least 20 days per year) to monitor FCDO programs and feed into situation assessment and policy development.  Salary USD 25,465 – USD 38,139 per annum, taxable
