The female-only internship program is a one- year program with the primary objectives of empowering  youthful  womanish graduates and impacting the organization’s philanthropic work that provides emerging  womanish talents an opportunity to apply knowledge and enhance skills through mentoring and coaching, expanding their professional network, working on value- added projects, gaining hands- on experience, and getting acquainted with the oriental difference. The intern is expected to assist Health and Nutrition, WASH, livelihoods and Gender in Emergencies.  

Position 1: Sub Grant Officer  

Required 

BA degree in accounting or original combination of work experience. 

three years of applicable experience  

Wanted 

former INGO experience. 

Experience with FCDO and Donor contract monitoring and reporting. 

Experience with  fiscal software, preferably ERP Experience. 

Good communication and presentation skills. 

Ability to communicate in original language (Tigrigna) 

Well- organized and proven ability to act professionally and ethically.

Good skills in computer applications.

Firm belief in teamwork and gender equity.  

WORKING CONDITIONS AND LEVEL OF trip REQUIRED.

Position 2: MEAL Officer  

EDUCATION/ TRAINING  

Required 

Bachelor’s degree in social science, Statistics or other related fields.

Position 3: Senior Gender and Youth Advisor

B) EXPERIENCE  

Required 

5- 7 years of work experience in development related areas, conversant with adult learning and training of trainers’ methodologies, practical experience in gender, women, and youth programming 

3- 5 years of work experience in gender analysis, training, and gender and social inclusion mainstreaming. 

previous experience working in Ethiopia’s pastoralist lowlands. 

Gender- related NGO experience.  

Wanted 

Experience in implementing programs funded by the United States Government.  

C) Specialized Skills  

Required 

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies. 

Analytical, training/ facilitation skills. 

Strong English writing and presentation skills. 

Sensitivity to different aspects of diversity (artistic, religious, disability), firm belief in teamwork and sensitivity to HIV/ AIDS.

Connections/ KEY connections  

The senior Gender and Youth Advisor reports to the CARE RiPA Component 1 Lead Advisor and works directly with the RiPA  institute management team. S/ he has direct relationships with the RiPA MC CoP/ Component Leads CLA Lead in all RiPA consortium partners, Field services, and has good contacts with peers in other CARE and USAID Resilience projects( RiPA South/ L4R/ RFSA). S/ he manages Government contacts, including building working  connections with the Ministry/ Bureaus of Women, Youth, and Child Affairs.  

VI. WORKING CONDITIONS AND LEVEL OF trip REQUIRED.  

This position is in Addis Ababa, with up to 50 field travel.
