Embassy of Ireland invites qualified applicants for the following job position.  Ireland has enjoyed bilateral relations with Ethiopia since 1994, when its Embassy in Addis Ababa was first opened. Ireland’s engagement in Ethiopia is guided by the Government of Ireland’s general foreign policy which seeks to promote a more secure, just, fair and sustainable world. Irish Aid, Ireland’s programme for  transnational development, envisages a world where people are empowered to overcome poverty and hunger, and fully realize their rights and potential. Irish Aid in Ethiopia  thus aims to benefit the poorest and most vulnerable sections of society.  

Position Administration- Finance Officer  

Qualification, Experience and Skills  

   • The candidate must have degree in Management, Business Administration, Accounting or other applicable fields;  

   • The candidate must have a minimum of three years’ applicable work experience with administration and financial responsibilities;  

   • The candidate must have an excellent communication and a high standard in English and Amharic, both spoken and written;  

    • The candidate must be  complete in Microsoft Office suite;  

   • The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to deliver results both independently and as part of amulti-cultural team;  

   • The candidate must have proven ability to work with  minimum supervision, prioritise and work to deadlines, ability to demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness and perseverance;  

   • The candidate must have strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in relation to financial transactions;  

   • The candidate must have good problem solving, decision- making skills, logical abilities and a veritably high standard of  particular integrity.  

   • All applicants must have a  endless legal right to reside and work in Ethiopia.  

Desirable Skills and Experience  

   • former experience with an international organisation is desirable  

   • Experience in a coordinating role;  

   • Experience of records management  

   • Start date As soon as possible  Contract duration The successful candidates will be hired on a fixed term for three- year contract with a probation period of 60 working days.  Working hours Monday to Friday, with standard office hours from 8am- 5 pm, with total working hours not exceeding 48 hours per week as per original labour law. Periodic Leave Entitlement Annual leave entitlement is 20 working days per annum. Gross payment Entry point of scale for Grade THREE (€ 12,186.84 per annum) paid in original currency. hires are paid direct to a bank account; therefore, the successful candidate must have a bank account.  

Eligibility Candidates must have a  endless, legal right to reside and work in Ethiopia and will be subject to employment and taxation law.
