Responsible Governance of Investments in Land (RGIL)
As a global cooperation enterprise for property development with worldwide
operations, the federally owned Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit
(GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its development-policy objectives.
In Ethiopia, GIZ has been operating for over forty years in bilateral cooperation on behalf of
the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and on
commission of the Ethiopian government and international donors.
GIZ Ethiopia is wanting to recruit a Organization Development adviser to support the
Responsible Governance of Investments in Land (RGIL) Project.
The Civil Society and Community Engagement adviser can report back to and be supervised by
National Project arranger

Responsibilities:-
- supporting the Project Manager and therefore the National Senior Project arranger in
communication and project observation.
- coordinating the national cooperation with community, civil society, academia, and
NGOs.
- ensuring coordination inside the country, particularly between native, regional and national
activities.
- coordinating the cooperation with civil society at national level, liable for closure
activities.
Tasks
Advisory services and capability building
- supports the authorization of native communities to understand their land rights.
- supports to secure land rights for native population compact by agricultural investments,
with attention on girls and alternative vulnerable teams.
- strengthens customary establishments, managing land conflict resolution.
supports the community to implement/enforce FPIC (Free, previous and wise to Consent),
in advance to land transfer to the capitalist.
conducts coaching of Trainers roll-out on legal help.
- prepares native communities for multi-stakeholder fora and negotiations conducts awareness raising, sensitization, identification of problematic problems for native land users. supports the roll-out of investor-community dialogue fora.
- develops and establishes grievance mechanisms.
- supports mediation of conflicts.
- develops, in conjunction with appropriate partners applicable coaching formats for community
legal authorization within the context of agricultural investments.
pilots/conducts trainings and/or CD measures for community legal authorization or other trainings (e.g. contract farming) within the context of agricultural investments;
- promotes the data system on agricultural investment (CAMIS).
- Coordination, cooperation, and information management supports cooperation, regular contact, and dialogue with partners,
- assists with PR work and cooperates with native communities, relevant organizations, non-governmental agencies and people within the project/program surroundings and with alternative comes to improve and maintain sensible operating relationships.

and information for the advantage of the project/program.
- assists with general project coming up with and develops project ideas as well as preparation, organization and moderation of coming up with exercises and their implementation, management, monitoring, quality management, evaluation, communication, and documentation.

compiles the relevant data for joint activities and assignments.
assists with analysis activities and studies on political problems that profit joint programs.
- publishes expertise associated with community legal direction.
develops and publishes relevant coaching / awareness materials and pointers for the local population.
develops and distribute data and communication materials in numerous native languages.
Education
- Master’s degree from associate degree authorised school or university in agricultural studies,
geography, community development or the other connected field.
- Professional expertise
- At least five years’ skilled expertise from operating with the civil society and
community engagement.
- Work expertise in land-related development comes is associate degree quality.
Other data, further competences
- Very good operating data of ICT building safety survey technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and laptop applications (e.g. MS Office);
Excellent communication and moderation skills, each written and oral in English and Amharic.
Willingness to upskill pro re nata by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures ar in agreement with management.
Good social skills and union.
