Position Junior Electrician  

Qualifications  

• College Diploma, TVET 10 3 or 10 4, level III or IV in electricity or electrical/ Electronic equipment servicing management/ Mechatronics & instrumentation servicing management, instrumentation & control servicing, electronic equipment servicing or other affiliated field of study  

• no work experience is required( zero years).

• Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Electrical equipment effectively.  

A Junior Electrician is responsible for undertaking routine tasks to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and institutions, using hand tools and power tools.  

Main Responsibilities  Under the guidance of the engineering & utility unit supervisor, the junior electrician shall carry out the following duties  

• Repair, construct, install, troubleshoot, and maintain routine electrical systems and equipment.  

• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other factors.  

• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. 

• Disassemble motors, generators, and other equipment in preparation for repair.  

• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices similar to ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.  

• Use various tools and equipment similar to power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps. 

• Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment,  similar to motors. Perform business management duties like maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and ordering supplies and equipment.  

• Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, outfit, and fixtures.  

• Diagnose and test malfunctioning machinery and  bandy malfunctions with other installation labor force  

• Calibrate and adjust all electrical/ electronic equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications  

• Troubleshoots motors, pumps, compressors, and any other systems in the plant.  

• Place conduit( pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.  

• Perform other related activities when instructed by his supervisor.
