Medical Teams International (MTI) provides medical and dental care in 32 countries. The organisation was founded in 1979, and sends teams of volunteer medical professionals and medical supplies to respond to disasters. Position 1: Agronomist  

Education, licenses, & certification 

  • BSC and above in agronomy, Horticulture, plant science and related field of studies  

Experience 

  • At least 2 years of working experience on agrarian field and livelihood in the refugee and host community for BSc. Having INGO experience is an added advantage  

Knowledge, skills & abilities  

KNOWLEDGE 

  • Knowledge of development & humanitarian issues and concepts 
  • Fluent spoken and written Amharic and English. 
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills

Education, licenses, & certification 

  • Minimum of BSC in Midwifery or original and renewed Professional license certification as a Midwife.  

Experience 

  • 3 years of professional experience after qualification. Having INGO work experience in humanitarian setting and MISP/ BEMONC training certificate is an added advantage.

Position 4: Senior Protection Officer- Prevention  

Education, licenses, & certification 

  • Diploma with 6 years of experience/ First degree with 4 years of experience in Social Work, Sociology, Public Health, Gender Studies, or any other Social Science related field. 
  • Computer knowledgeable, including Microsoft word, excel, outlook and power- point  

Experience 

  • At least 3 years’ experience in GBV (Gender Based Violence), and Gender- related humanitarian aid and development programming. 
  • Work in remote areas and field experience is a plus. 
  • Clear understanding of gender, power abuse, and issues surrounding violence against women. 
  • suitable to maintain GBV and protection principles at all times. 
  • NGO experience is a plus

  • Ability to lead, train, supervise, facilitate and motivate other PROTECTION field workers in their  separate tasks in a professional, regardful and probative manner. 
  • Positive and professional attitude, suitable to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when needed and  suitable to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work as a member of a team essential.
  • Fluency in English and knowledge of original language is advantageous
