Medical Teams International (MTI) provides medical and dental care in 32 countries. The organization was innovated in 1979 and sends teams of volunteer medical professionals and medical supplies to respond to disasters. It also works with partners on long-term health promotion initiatives. 

Position 1: Hygiene Promotion Officer 

Essential Duties Responsibilities 
 • Assist in Ensuring MTI’s standard of quality in the implementation of WASH, & cholera outbreak response is met. 
 • Actively work on risk communication and community engagement( RCCE) in cholera outbreak response and prevention. 
 • Participated in different phases of project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation on water, sanitation & hygiene promotion, and cholera outbreak prevention and response-related activities. 
 • Select and conduct capacity training for HWS, Community health workers, and woreda-level RRT, in outbreak-affected weeds, within the intervention area. 
 • Coordinate and facilitate interactive and participatory hygiene promotion activities for the Social behavioral change communication process. 
 • Provide professional and required support for Environmental Health Agents, School hygiene Clubs, and Sanitation facility attendants for effective cholera outbreak prevention and response within the intervention area. 
 • Coordinate and facilitate public and global WASH-related campaigns with Partners and refugee structures. 
 • Facilitate doable activity, procurement, and spending plans for Cholera outbreak response activities. ( Plan & initiate procurement to program activities required for Cholera outbreak response and prevention) within the grant period. 
 • Actively participate and conduct different WASH need assessments. 
 

Education, licenses, &  instrument 
 • University Post degree, or BSc degree in Environmental Health Science, Public Health, Nurse, Health Education, or any other related field from a recognized University. 

Experience 
 • At least 2 years experience working in Environmental health or health and WASH-related tasks and 2 years experience managing the operation of WASH in health services, including staff supervision.

Position 2: Medical Officer 

Education, licenses, & certification 

• Health Officer or Medical Doctor 
 

Experience 
 • Medical doctor, Health officer, BSC nurse, 
 • Postgraduate training in Public Health is an added advantage. 
 • At least 3 years of practical work experience after qualification in a related field. 
 • NGO experience inclusive of emergency Health and nutrition programs. 
 • Computer  knowledgeable, especially MS Word and Excel 
 • Good knowledge of written and spoken English languages. Tigrigna language has an added advantage 
 • Familiarity with the program area is highly desired

Knowledge, skills & abilities 
KNOWLEDGE 

• Knowledge of philanthropic principles and operations and project cycle management. 
 • Knowledge of( Country) MoH, WHO, and UN health systems and policies. 
 • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices in health in philanthropic settings. 
 • introductory knowledge of principles and current approaches to monitoring and evaluation in relief and development programs.

Education, licenses, & certification 
 • Medical Doctor( MD) or BSc in Health Officer 

Experience 
 • At least 3 years experience working in direct health service delivery and a minimum of 2- year experience in NGOs 
 • At least 2 years experience in managing or leading the operation of health services.
