Nib International Bank( Nib Bank) was established on May 26, 1999, under license no. LBB/ 007/99, by the Commercial Code of Ethiopia and Proclamation No. 84/1994 for Licensing and Supervision of Banking Business. The bank began with a paid-up capital of Birr 27.6 million, a sanctioned capital of Birr 150 million, and 717 shareholders. Sanctioned operations commenced on October 28, 1999, with just 27 employees, making Nib Bank the sixth private bank to enter Ethiopia’s banking industry.
In addition to offering comprehensive domestic and transnational banking services, Nib Bank has embraced ultramodern technologies to enhance customer convenience. The bank provides mobile and internet banking services, issues NIB cards, and has installed ATMs at strategic locations nationwide. To expand its range of card banking services and offer competitive transnational payment results, Nib Bank has formed strategic partnerships with MasterCard, VISA, and UnionPay.
Furthermore, the bank has taken significant steps to upgrade its technological infrastructure. A full-scale preparation to upgrade its T24 banking application to the rearmost robust interpretation has been completed, ensuring enhanced efficiency and superior service delivery to its valued customers.
