Position 3: Technical Experts for Transforming Education 

The program will focus on three  crucial components below

 Recruitment for this role is contingent upon the successful award of the project, and the final applicant’s selection is subject to FCDO approval. 
 Scope of Work 

The IRC is seeking candidates to fill the following roles to form part of the TREE core team of specialized experts 
 • Curriculum & Teaching 
 • Educational leadership

These are senior specialized positions that require outstanding leadership, strategic thinking, and organizational, team-building, and emblematic skills. They will be responsible for the management and oversight of the program across all program areas. They're envisaged to be full-time and will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, or potentially in the program’s indigenous offices. Travel to intervention areas within Ethiopia may be required.

Responsibilities for specialized leads

 • Lead or support the development of research, monitoring, evaluation, and learning plans, and ensure linkages between evidence generation at all levels, original and public dialogue, and policy/ practice uptake. 
 • Provide specialized assistance and expertise to TREE’s targeted interventions aimed at improving access, continuity, quality, and equity of education in Ethiopia. 

Role requirements 
 • A strong track record of leading the management or specialized delivery of large and/ or complex donor-funded programs and managing a different team of professionals and consortium partners. 
 • expansive experience working in East Africa and/ or Ethiopia is essential. 
 • Exceptional experience, expertise, and commitment to foundational learning and gender and social inclusion in East Africa. 
 • Strong skills in program design and development, advocacy, and networking with transnational and public institutions and development agencies that promote girls’ education and empowerment. 
 • Broad and specific specialized knowledge( according to part) of specialized assistance and systems strengthening programming, as well as political expertise will be essential. 
 • Ability to perform at a senior management level including managing staff in a matrixed system with a focus on adaptive management.

 • Familiarity with current global and indigenous debates about foundational learning and girls’ education including FCDO’s thinking and emerging priorities.

Position 4: Finance and Operations Director- Transforming Education in Ethiopia (TREE) Programme 

In Ethiopia, the IRC delivers educational services to children, their parents or caregivers, and to government-run primary schools. The IRC operates directly and laterally throughout all regions of Ethiopia, except for the Southwest Region. The IRC works through seven field offices – in Adama, Hawassa, Asossa, Gambella, Somali, and Shire, and four satellite offices in Aleta Wondo Harar, Bahir Dar, and Shiraro. The IRC directly operates in Oromia, Somali, Tigray, Beninshangul-Gumuz, Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples( SNNP), Sidama, Gambella, and Harari regions. Qualifications 
 • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or Finance with a recognized professional certificate in accounting similar to CPA, or a master’s degree in account. 
 • A minimum of 10 times in an analogous fiscal, compliance, or functional role supporting FCDO  marketable contracts and other international donor projects in similar contexts. 
 • Experience in designing, implementing, and managing financial and procurement management systems and controls. 
 • Experience with budgeting and fiscal reporting requirements on multimillion pound,multi-year, FCDO  marketable contracts. 
 • Experience with financial management and reporting on projects with substantial sub-awards.
