IRC began work in Ethiopia in 2000 in response to severe drought in Ethiopia’s Somali region and are currently providing assistance to Ethiopians and refugees in six regions in Ethiopia, implementing emergency and development programs in health, water and sanitation, profitable recovery and development( ERD), women’s protection and commission, education, child protection, andmulti-sectoral emergency response.
Position Water Technician Assistant
Qualifications
A diploma plus certificate in Electromechanical or plumbing installation Technology from a recognized institution and experience in surface, submersible, and solar- driven pumps and generator operation & maintenance is helpful.
0- year experience for degree holders or 2 years proven experience for Diploma or in operating and maintaining from big to small electromechanical equipment, servicing pump and generator, and pipe installation work.
Preferred experience & skills
Strong and proven track record to prioritize and deliver on time.
Strong logical problem- solving skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively with partners at all levels.
Ability to manage and work through change proactively and positively.
Have received training or certificate in Plumbing and electromechanical preferred.
NGO experience is a plus. complete in spoken and written English and Original languages.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
The Assistant water technician is reported to the Water technician officer, to be responsible for the installation & ensuring the operation of submersible pumps and generators installed to supply safe water to the Sherkole/ Kurmuk Reception center population and the position holder as accurate maintenance/ service pumps, generator, pipe installations, training of Operation and Maintenance teams on a timely manner.
