Meklit Microfinance InstitutionS.C is a transformed Commercial Microfinance institution initially established according to proclamationno.40/96 and recently revised proclamation626/2009 issued by the National Bank Of Ethiopia to provide financial and non-financial services to Medium, Small Enterprises, and low-income people, particularly women, at both civic and pastoral areas of Ethiopia.  

Position 1 Risk Management and Compliance Officer  

Meklit MFI is currently looking for candidates for Risk Management and Compliance Officer The successful candidates will have skills and experience that meet the  ensuing conditions  

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS  

• Prepares risk management plan intending to identify, measure, control, and monitor risks to ensure the building of a dependable and strong microfinance Company;  

• Develop applicable risk identification  ways suitable for the Company;  

• Conduct a risk assessment to identify measure and rank risks to plan the risk management activities of the Company;  

• Prepare and present reports on “  functional risk ” to ensure that the Company isn't negatively affected by any failure in internal processes, people, and systems or from external events.  

• Present reports on the “ liquidity risk ” of the Company to ensure its ability to meet its obligations or its cash flow needs;  

• Present reports on “ interest rate risk ” to ensure that interest paid to depositors and interest rate on loans are adequately managed to cover  fiscal costs and other expenses to continue the business sustainably;  

• Forwards recommendation with an applicable action plan on how to control or mitigate the observed risks;  

• Follow up and present reports on how the concerned work organs of the Company perform risk monitoring tasks.  Number required One  Duty station Head office Addis Ababa

Job Requirements  

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS  

EDUCATION/ TRAINING   

•B.A. degree in accounting, Accounting & finance, management, and other related fields of study.

EXPERIENCE  

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in any financial Company or affiliated organization.  

Specialized AND OTHER SKILLS  

• Demonstrated specialized ability, and capability to interact and work effectively with others in all  situations;  

• Firm belief in teamwork and gender equality;  

• Basic computer skills  

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.  

Position 2 Branch Internal Audit  

Required Number Two  Terms of employment endless  Time of Application During working hours from 2 00 to 1100 original time  Closing date and time Feb. 7, 2024, at 1100 original time  

Job Requirements  Education  

• BA Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Banking, and Finance or Equivalent Combination of Education.  

EXPERIENCE  

• 2 years of experience in internal auditing.  

• Familiarity with the MFI industry’s rules and regulations  

• Excellent organizational skills  Competencies  

• Good planning, experience in internal auditing  

• Demonstrated Leadership ability to inspire and empower others  

• Well organized and ability to act in a professional and ethical manner  

• Good skills in the use of computer application  

• Problem-solving skills
