Mercy Corps Ethiopia is demonstrating a sustained commitment to agency Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) and Gender, Diversity and Inclusion efforts. consequently, the country workplace is chosen in concert of the 2 Mercy Corps pilot countries to implement the recently launched a replacement three-year agency wide Gender Equality, Diversity and Social inclusion (GEDSI) Strategy . The strategy is exclusive therein it represents a joint effort between the GESI (Gender Equality and Social Inclusion) and GDI (Gender, Diversity, and Inclusion) groups. The strategy reflects the necessary link between internal GDI promotion and Mercy Corps’ goal of achieving programmatic impact at the community level. Therefore, Mercy Corps Ethiopia is wanting to rent a national volunteer to support the country GEDSI effort as a part of the pilot and regular GEDSI implementation.
Mercy Corps encompasses a growing portfolio of programs in Ethiopia that specialize in food security; agriculture and placental mammal market systems
development; maternal and kid health and nutrition; youth economic productivity; resilience and humanitarian response. In Ethiopia, a number of our donors embody USAID, SIDA, EU, DFID, and WFP.
Position Title – Volunteer -Gender Equality, Diversity and Social Inclusion (GEDSI)
Entry Level (Fresh Graduate)
QUALIFICATIONS:
BA degree in gender, psychology, welfare work, sociology, or another relevant field.
Two years and a lot of similar responsibilities like psychosocial support, promoting gender equality, coaching job and mentorship connected responsibilities and then on
Previous expertise in volunteer service provision is a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft workplace (at least Basic information of Excel)
Managing resources – Organizes ANd manages info in an optimum manner.
Good social skills – able to work well in a very team atmosphere
Ability to figure severally and show initiative.
Fluency in English needed
Exceptional verbal and written language skills.
Ability and temperament to each lead and follow as acceptable.
This opportunity is barely Ethiopian nationals
