LBB/007/99 in accordance with the Commercial Code of Ethiopia and the Proclamation for Licensing and Supervision of Banking Business Proclamation no. The company was established in 1994 with a paid-up capital of Birr 27.6 million and an authorized capital of Birr 150 million, contributed by 717 shareholders.
The bank commenced its operation on 28 October 1999 with 27 employees. It joined the banking industry as the sixth private bank licensed in the country.
