Position 1Finance Officer – Budget and Reporting
Roles & Responsibilities
The purpose of the officer position is daily implementation of the Country Office Project.
General Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines
- Implement delegated CC project portfolio according to plan of action
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
- Ensure proper form of documents
- Ensure that systems target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and assess new and better ways to assist
- Promote and share ideas for specialized enhancement
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure that accurate and timely accounts are on a regular basis under NRC financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure safe custody of an acceptable amount of petty cash float, to be issued under NRC policies and procedures.
- Responsible for enforcing and covering internal controls to ensure the thickness of financial policies of the NRC Ethiopia office.
- Assemble documents for data input in the accounting system, verifying project numbers codes, resource numbers, and total costs.
- Review payment requests for accuracy, absoluteness, compliance, level of authorization, and clarity on the invoices.
- Ensure financial reports from the field offices are timely received and put into the accounting system
- Prepare and review payment vouchers and invoices for accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
- Follow cash advances and their purposes to ensure value for money when verifying accountabilities, and also ensure that liability is prompt and cleared. Responsible for following up on NRC bills for timely agreement.
- Make all payments after blessing and after compiling and verifying the accuracy of necessary documents.
- Coordinate fiscal matters with third parties like banks, vendors, and tax authorities
- Maintain open communication with Finance Coordinator, FM, program staff, and others for all finaical interpretations
- Any other duties assigned by an administrator.

- Certified Public Accountant
- Minimum of 3 years ’ applicable experience and INGO experience is preferable

- Very strong financial analysis skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Position 2 Finance Assistant
Role and responsibilities
- The purpose of the Finance Assistant position is to assist in the day-to-day perpetration of the finance functions liabilities. The following is a brief description of the part. general liabilities
- Cleave to NRC programs, tools, textbooks, and guidelines
- Assist with the perpetration of the support function portfolio according to the plan of action
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
- Ensure proper filing of financial documents according to NRC standards and the Securing Supporting Documents( SSD) policy
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
- Support project staff in financial matters Specific Responsibilities
- Check supplier’s invoices and ensure that the supporting documents meet NRC standards before payment, and ensure timely payments
- help in the month-end accounting closing process, icing the accuracy and completeness of the tally and all supporting documentation.
- Ensure all documents are copied, scanned, filed, and originally sent to CO yearly
- Assist in preparing yearly financial reports and send all applicable documents to the country office yearly
- Assist in ensuring cash in the bank and cash boxes
- ensure that all taxes and other government payments are settled yearly
- Follow up the day-to-day responsibility of managing petty cash and cheque payments
- Assist with the preparation of payment vouchers for cash and cheques and ensure timely agreements of all checks
- Assist the Finance Officer to perform cash and bank reconciliation
- Assist with payments of labor or other activities in camps or communities as required
- Maintain open communication with all staff and others for all financial interpretations.

- Knowledge about own skills profile
- Knowledge of English, both written and verbal environment/ Specific skills, knowledge, and experience
- Good knowledge of the area and context in the Region
- Goal-oriented with the ability to work under pressure, independently, and with limited supervision.
- Experience working with large institutional donors is an advantage
