Awash Bank, Ethiopia’s pioneering private bank, was established on November 10, 1994, after the downfall of the socialist regime. The Bank was established by 486 founding shareholders with a paid-up capital of Birr 24.2 million and started banking operations on Feb. 13, 1995.
Since embarking on operation, the Bank has registered remarkable growth. Notwithstanding global and domestic challenges, Awash Bank has displayed a superior functional and fiscal performance among private banks operating in Ethiopia. Awash Bank is currently working towards strengthening its capital base, technological capabilities, mortal resources, and customer base.
Position 1: Senior – Database Administrator
Qualification & Experience BSc Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or computer Engineering plus a minimum of six( 6) years in Database administration or related with three( 3) years of which should be in a senior/ original role preferably in the banking sector.
Required Knowledge & Skills
– Knowledge of two or further RDBMS technologies( DB2, Oracle, MS- SQL server & Knowledge of advanced SQL)
– Advanced knowledge of operating systems preferably AIX, or Linux. Storages, network, and security knowledge. Knowledge of high availability( HA) and Disaster recovery options.

Position 2: Branch Manager – Class I Branch
Qualification & Experience BA Degree in Accounting, Economics, Management & Business Administration plus a minimum of eleven( 11) years of work experience in the banking sector with three( 3) years of which in an administrative position.
MA/ MBA in business-related fields( added advantage)
Training in domestic and transnational banking operations, credit management, and leadership( added advantage)

Position 3: Branch Manager – Class II Branch
Qualification & Experience BA Degree in Accounting, Economics, Management & Business Administration plus a minimum of ten( 10) years’ experience in the banking sector of which three( 3) years in an administrative position.

Position 4: Branch Manager – Class III Branch
Qualification & Experience BA Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, or related discipline plus a minimum of nine( 9) years of applicable banking experience of which three( 3) years in an administrative position.

Position 5: Branch Manager – Class IV Branch
Qualification & Experience BA Degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Banking & Finance, and Economics plus a minimum of eight( 8) years of applicable banking experience of which three( 3) years in an administrative position.
