Awash Bank invites competent and qualified candidates for the following vacant job positions. Awash Bank, Ethiopia’s pioneering private bank, was established on November 10, 1994, after the downfall of the socialist regime. The Bank was established by 486 founding shareholders with a paid-up capital of Birr 24.2 million and started banking operations on Feb. 13, 1995. Since embarking on the operation, the Bank has registered remarkable growth. Notwithstanding global and domestic challenges, Awash Bank has exhibited a superior functional and financial performance among private banks operating in Ethiopia. Awash Bank is currently working towards strengthening its capital base, technological abilities, human resources, and customer base. 

Position 1: Information Systems Auditor  

Qualification & Experience  BSc Degree in Computer Science/ BA Degree in Business-related field,  plus a minimum of six( 6) years in Banking Operations with a minimum of two( 2) years in Information Systems Auditing.  

Job Summary  

The jobholder is responsible for conducting internal audits and projects related to information technology function/ processes and the technology applications that support the bank’s business functions; responsible for monitoring and adherence to pronounced controls, methods, and practices in working with the Information Technology function. The activities involve analyzing risks and controls, recommending process and control improvements, and furnishing reports summarizing information systems audit activities to the supervisor.

Position 2: Senior – Software Engineer  

Qualification & Experience  BSc Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology related fields, plus a minimum of six (6) years’ experience in IT, software development, integration, project management, and banking areas. 

Master's in an IT-related field (an added advantage).  

Job Summary  

The jobholder is responsible for supporting the System Development and Integration activities. S/ he is responsible for supporting the requirement gathering, developing/ customizing, testing, bug fixing, and installation of new or modified applications. In addition, she is responsible for ensuring integration of new or modified systems/ applications with existing systems/ applications of the Bank.

Position 3: Manager- Construction Projects Management Division  

Qualification & Experience  BSc Degree in Construction Technology Management, Project Management, or affiliated fields with Computer-related courses in Engineering( AutoCAD, SAP, and/ or Arch Cad) plus a minimum of ten (10) years’ applicable experience with at least three (3) years in an administrative role.

Previous experience in Banking Operations (highly desirable).  

Job Summary  

The job holder is responsible for preparing architectural design and specialized specifications for new and existing own buildings, office layouts, aluminum and counter works, maintenance, and extension of branch teller cages. S/ he evaluates proposed specialized documents, reviews blueprints and specifications, and provides support on heat and ventilation systems for buildings. Controls the quality of construction projects.
