The Danish Refugee Council( DRC), a transnational non-governmental organization( NGO), has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa since 1997. DRC promotes and supports results to the problems faced by refugees, internally displaced people( IDPs), and migrants. The organization has offices across the region and has been functional in Ethiopia since 2009. With funding from bilateral and multilateral donors, DRC is presently implementing a range of conditioning across Ethiopia, including marshland and shelter provision, child and youth protection, gender-based violence response, awareness-raising of migration risks, protection monitoring of migration routes, and livelihoods support for returning migrants or those at-risk of migration
Position: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning Intern/ Trainee
Responsibilities and tasks
Needs Assessment, Reporting & Data Visualization
• Participate in the design and implementation of requirements assessments
• Contribute to the medication of assessment reports by closely working with the mess platoon to synthesize findings from the requirements assessments.
• Supporting data visualization and reporting.
• Engage in thorough reviews of existing literature and secondary data analysis related to program areas, stylish practices, and applicable case studies to support research works.
• Support the documentation and tracking of feedback and complaints and help analyze feedback trends in collaboration with the Field Office MEAL team to review and analyze the collected feedback data, looking for patterns and recurring themes.
Programmatic Learning & Development
• Engage actively in regular team meetings and cooperative sessions where the MEAL team discusses ongoing systems, challenges, and successes.
• Work alongside team members to capture crucial takeaways from projects and evaluations and assist documentation of lesson learned and stylish practices.
• Participate in after- action reviews and project closure meetings to systematically evaluating project outcomes against objectives, discussing what worked well, and documenting action points.
• Support in the collection and analysis of case studies and success stories to highlight poignant program outcomes.
Learning and Development Opportunities

• Communication & Coordination: Ability to convey information easily and manage tasks effectively.

• Research Skills: Ability to conduct background research on benefactors, programs, and sectors applicable to DRC’s work.
• Data Management: Ability to organize and track data or documents efficiently, possibly using software tools or databases.
• Computer Skills: Good general computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• AI prompting & Search engine skills with prompting AI or chatbots like ChatGPT and using search engines.

EDUCATION( include certificates, licenses, etc.)
• Is enrolled at a university for an applicable education, with a minimum of two years of advanced education completed, or have graduated from a university a maximum 2 years ago
LANGUAGE( indicate fluency level)
• Excellent verbal and written proficiency in English.
