The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), an international non-governmental organization (NGO), has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa since 1997. DRC promotes and supports solutions to the problems faced by refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs), and migrants. The organization has offices across the region and has been functional in Ethiopia since 2009. With funding from bilateral and multinational donors, DRC is currently implementing a range of activities across Ethiopia, including WASH and shelter provision, child and youth protection, gender-based violence response, awareness-raising of migration risks, protection monitoring of migration routes, and livelihoods support for returning migrants or those at-risk of migration.
Position 1: Solutions Manager- ReDSS
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in similar positions involving research, evidence-building; analysis, and coordination of an institute of partners
- Experience in leadership and representation roles involving engaging with a different group of public and international actors
- Strong knowledge of the socio-profitable and political dynamics of Ethiopia and the wider region; more specifically on forced relegation trends with a demonstrated ability to manage politically sensitive contexts
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multilateral environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the association
Required skills
- Ability to represent a wide range of actors on sensitive and complex issues, and capacity to bring stakeholders with varying interests and perspectives together toward a common agenda
- Strong logical and writing skills with proven experience in producing high-quality research and policy briefs with the ability to present complex information in a simple and accessible manner
- Strong experience in translating evidence and research into programming and policy guidance
- Strong knowledge of capacity development of a wide range of actors including adult learning, mentoring and coaching, training of trainers, and impact monitoring of capacity development activities
- Excellent coordination, interpersonal facilitation, and communication skills to build trusted relationships with a wide array of humanitarian and development partners, donors, Government agencies, etc.
- Flexibility, visionary engagement, ability to work under pressure, and to demonstrate a high tolerance for change, complexity, and unpredictability.
EDUCATION (include certificates, licenses, etc.)
Advanced University degree in social studies, political science, international relations, or other applicable field
Excellent verbal and written proficiency in English.

Position 2: Radio Operator/ Information Management Officer
Experience and specialized competencies (include years of experience)
Experience with Satellite phone, HF, and VHF radio setup, maintenance, and operation. (at least 2 years experience in total)
Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Office).
Working experience in an INGO, context is an asset.
Ability to work flexible hours determined by the functional requirement
Experience collating and propagating Information on several platforms
EDUCATION (include certificates, licenses, etc.)
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in information management
Radio Operator certification from a recognized institute or body
Experience in radio operation and handling will also be considered
LANGUAGE (indicate fluency level)
Fluency in English
