The Ethiopian Red Cross Society( ERCS) was established in 1935 and is one of the oldest and largest humanitarian organizations in Ethiopia. ERCS provides services to communities affected by natural and manmade disasters through the provision of emergency responses, ambulance and first aid, family reunification, essential drugs, water and sanitation, and other philanthropic services. ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs to create resilient households and communities. Currently, the ERCS has a structure consisting of 12 Regional services, 34 Zonal Branches 131 quarter/ Woreda Branches, 599 Woreda Red Cross Committees, and 5871 Kebele Red Cross committees.
ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs relating to food security, climate change adaptation, livelihood diversification, and institutional capacity-building interventions, to create resilience households and communities. ERCS works in partnership with the Ethiopian Government, the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC), International Committee of the Red Cross( ICRC), partnering with National Societies, members, volunteers, and the communities we serve.
Position 1: Accounts Manager –Re-advert
Key performance areas
• Plans, coordinates, directs, and supervises project account activities of the Society;
• Supervises the recording, analysis, and financial statement preparation activities of core cost and projects by the Society’s policies and procedures in place;
• Ascertains that closings and auditing of books of accounts are carried out in due course. Ensures that fiscal documents, ledgers, journal vouchers, and supporting documents are maintained and organized by the accounting system of the Society;
• Verifies or approves correctness of statement of accounts for receivable and outstanding accounts as well as bank conciliation; Ensures that all transactions of disbursements and receivables are journalized and posted into separate checks timely;
• Fulfills facility and manpower requirements of the work unit, coordinates and supervises the tasks and employees of the division; Ensures proper and harmonious enforcement of the financial policies and procedures of the Society;
• Follows up the entry of financial deals by the accounting system in place of the Society; Ascertains that account records are maintained in the proper classification of codes per the accounting procedure of the Society;
• Ensures that the Society’s accounting documents are properly organized; Provides branch offices with professional assistance in performing accounting conditioning; follows up the financial reports of implementing branches;
• Gives necessary clarifications on the discrepancies and makes amendments in response to formative comments findings;
• Facilitates and follows up the preparation and communication of project financial reports as per commitments made with funding agents and material financial policies and procedures of the Society;
Qualification requirements
• Alternate/ First degree in Accounting/ Account & Finance & or Accounting Software.
• 8/10 years related work experience, out of which 4/6 years in a directorial position (s)

Position 2: Senior Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting Officer for DRC Climate Change
Role and Responsibilities
• Collects material information from internal and external sources, compiles and analyses them, and formulates input data for planning.
• In consultation with the team members using the standard and required template develop the M & E plan of the DCA- DRC Climate Change Project.
• Take the lead with the project coordinator in the development of requirements assessments, PMER set up developing reporting tools to be used for all enforcing areas.
• Ensures implementation of M & E plan and supports implementing branches project coordinators and fields’ officers in timely reporting including connection of comprehensive periodic progress report to partners.
• Ensures and coordinates the delivery of narrative/ fiscal reporting analysis on progress according to the agreed reporting cycle time of project MOU.
• Participates in SWOT analysis and input information formulation for crafting strategic, medium-term, and short-term plans of the project on the data drawn through environmental assessment,
• Participate or assist in the preparation of short, medium, and long-term plans for the project
• Monitors possible contingencies on the general underlying assumptions and situations considered in formulating long, medium, and short-term plans of the programs and proposes valid revisions on plans to make necessary adjustments to unlooked-for circumstances or unfolding contingencies and changes;
Qualification Requirements
• Alternate/ First Degree in Economics, Management, Statistics, Development Studies, Regional Local and Development Studies,
• 6/8 years of work experience on humanitarian and development projects
Training and Skills –
• Training on Project/ Program Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation
• Training on Community Engagement and Responsibility
• Training on Project Management;
• Training on Mobile & remote Data Collection systems similar to Kobo Toolbox, ODK, Magpie, and Comma care – Training on Microsoft Office package especially advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; and data Visualization tools similar to Power BI, Tableau
• Training on Analytical tools similar to SPSS, and Stata;
• Fluency in English- spoken and written, Fluency in Amharic – spoken and written, and Knowledge of other original languages applicable to the project could be an advantage.

Position 3: Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Senior Officer( Social Cohesion Project)
Duties and Responsibilities
• Design the MHPSS implementation strategy and prepare a work plan to support the timely prosecution of the PSS element of the project.
• Participate in the specialized design of the assessment for internal health and psychosocial support( MHPSS) for the migration project, focusing on supporting migrants and their communities’ reintegration and return process and implementing internal health and psychosocial support( MHPSS) interventions tailored to the specific requirements of the target population
• In collaboration with the PMER Senior Officer, actively participate in periodic common monitoring of the MHPSS intervention
• Support field staff in assisting returnees and their communities with MHPSS needs.
• Provide training on MHPSS for ERCS( Ethiopian Red Cross Society) staff, levies, and original government staff, including healthcare and social service authorities, as well as staff in One Stop Centers, on cerebral first aid( PFA), community-based psychosocial support( CBPSS), and community mindfulness.
• Establish community-based psychosocial support intervention strategies in the affected communities.
• Support field staff in aiding returnees and their communities with MHPSS.
• Promote positive internal health and psychosocial well-being through peer support and group support among at-risk groups, similar to internally displaced persons( IDPs) and marginalized host community members.
• Adapt training materials from RC movement, develop and conduct MHPSS specialized training for staff and volunteers with minimal standards.
• Conduct probative supervision of staff and volunteers delivering MHPSS activities.
• Conduct assessments on the well-being of staff and volunteers, and identify the main risks to the psychosocial well-being of volunteers and staff who are exposed to traumatic events and stories.
• Establish/ improve the referral pathways requiring technical internal health services and other services.
• Document stylish case practice studies and other applicable data of the MHPSS services and share information on field-level successes and challenges with coordination of migration to other branches.

Qualifications and Skills
• Master’s or first degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or a related field.
• 6/8 years of experience working in the field of MHPSS.
o Experience working with different populations, including returnees, refugees, internally displaced persons, and conflict-affected communities.
o Training on CBMHPSS, PFA, and Project Cycle management
