AFORO TRADING PLC, with its factory located in Semera Industrial Park, was established with the mission of producing high-quality comestible iodized salt and artificial salt to support public efforts in enhancing the intake of essential micronutrients and addressing the wide challenges of micronutrient deficiencies.  

Aforo Trading PLC would like to invite competent and interested candidates for the ensuing position.  

Position 1: Mechanical Engineer

Location Semera, Afar Regional State  

Job Type Onsite – Full Time  

Key Responsibilities  

: Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and ensure functional efficiency.  

Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities, including the repair and servicing of equipment and machinery.  

Lead, train, and evaluate the conservation platoo to ensure high levels of performance and adherence to safety standards.  

Conduct regular inspections to identify implicit equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.  

Manage spare parts inventory and procurement of tools and materials.  

Collaborate with the Production and Quality Assurance teams to ensure flawless operations and adherence to quality standards.  

Maintain accurate records of conservation activities, including work orders,  outfit histories, and maintenance schedules.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards related to maintenance operations.  

Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase equipment reliability.  

About You  

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related fields.  

2 years in the salt processing sector or 4 years in other manufacturing sectors.  

Strong specialized knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in manufacturing.  

Proven experience in preventive and prophylactic conservation strategies.  

Excellent leadership and platoon operation skills.  

Computer proficiency, including in Microsoft Office.  

Strong problem-solving and decision- making abilities.  Familiarity with safety regulations and stylish practices in maintenance operations.  

Position 2: Electrician  

Key Responsibilities  : Perform electrical examinations, installations, maintenance, and repairs of machinery and Electrical systems.  Troubleshoot electrical issues, diagnose faults, and execute corrective actions to minimize downtime.  

Install new electrical systems and outfit as required, ensuring they meet all safety and functional standards.  

Maintain electrical control panels, circuit boards, wiring, and associated equipment to ensure optimal functioning. Unite with the conservation Head and platoon members to ensure that preventative  conservation schedules are stuck to. 

Perform routine checks and calibration of electrical equipment to maintain effective operations.  

Ensure compliance with electrical safety norms and regulations, promoting a safe working environment.  

Assist in the installation and testing of new equipment or electrical systems within the facility.

Document and report electrical maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and the usage of parts and accoutrements. 

Support in training staff on safe electrical practices and procedures.  

Qualifications and Experience  

Minimum level 4 Electrician, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.  

2 years in the manufacturing sector.  In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and control systems.  

Familiarity with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations.  

Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and specialized manuals.  

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  

Proficiency in the English language.  

Workplace Samara, Afar Region  

Position 3: HR Manager  

Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and strategies to support the company’s objectives.  

Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process to ensure the company attracts and retains qualified professionals.  

Design and manage employee performance appraisal systems, providing feedback and recommending development initiatives.  

Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.  

Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.  

Buy vitamins and supplements.  

Foster positive employee relations by addressing grievances, resolving conflicts, and promoting a healthy plant culture.  

Oversee workforce planning and succession planning activities to ensure business continuity.  

Provide guidance and support to department heads and supervisors on HR matters.  

Maintain accurate and over- to- date employee records and HR documentation.  

Qualifications and Experience  

BSc and above in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Management, or related fields.  

Minimum of 5 years in human resources, with a preference for experience in the manufacturing sector.  

Strong knowledge of HR principles, labor laws, and stylish practices.  

Proven ability to handle recruitment, training, performance management, and employee relations.  

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.  

Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.  

Workplace Samara, Afar Region  

Position 4: IT Officer  

Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain IT structure, including tackle, software, and network systems, to ensure effective and continued operations.  

Give specialized support and troubleshooting backing to workers for IT-related issues.

Manage and maintain ERP systems, including integration and alignment with the company’s functional requirements.  

Examine and maintain system backups and security protocols.  

unite with other departments to identify IT needs and recommend 

Conduct regular system updates, patches, and hardware upgrades to maintain optimal performance.  Manage IT inventory, including procurement, installation, and maintenance of equipment.  

Develop and apply IT programs and procedures to ensure data security and compliance with applicable regulations.  

Provide training to workers on IT systems, including ERP modules, to enhance user adoption and efficiency.  

Prepare and present IT performance and activity reports to management.  

Qualifications and Experience: BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.  

2- 4 years of experience in IT, with a preference for experience in the manufacturing sector and ERP systems.  

Proficiency in managing IT systems, networks, and hardware.  

Strong logical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues.  

Excellent communication and interpersonal chops to work effectively with cross-functional teams.  

Workplace Samara, Afar Region  

Position 5 Shift Chemist  

Key Responsibilities  

Perform laboratory analyses on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality and safety norms.  

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability of test results.  

Document and report test results directly and instantly, relating any deviations from quality specifications.  Support product brigades by providing timely feedback on quality issues and suggesting corrective actions.  

Conduct routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments to ensure harmonious performance.  

Monitor and enforce compliance with safety procedures and good laboratory practices.  

Maintain records of test results, quality control data, and laboratory inventory.  

Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality protocols.  

Collaborate with the Quality Assurance and Production teams to address quality concerns and apply improvements.  

Prepare and submit shift reports to the Quality Assurance Head, highlighting any significant findings or challenges.  

Qualifications and Experience  

BSc and above in Food Science and Nutrition, Food Science and Post-Harvest Technology, Food Technology, Applied Chemistry, or Industrial Chemistry.  2- 4 years in laboratory analysis or quality assurance, with a preference for experience in the iodized salt manufacturing sector.  

Proficiency in laboratory testing techniques and familiarity with quality standards, similar to ISO or HACCP.  

Strong logical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.  

Ability to operate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments effectively.  

Computer proficiency, including in Microsoft Office.  

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.  

Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to production schedules.  Workplace Samara, Afar Region
