The Danish Refugee Council( DRC), an internationalnon-governmental organization( NGO), has provided relief and development services in the Horn of Africa since 1997. DRC promotes and supports solutions to the problems faced by refugees, internally displaced people( IDPs), and migrants. The organization has regional offices and has been functional in Ethiopia since 2009. With backing from bilateral and multinational donors, DRC is currently implementing a range of activities across Ethiopia, including WASH and shelter provision, child and youth protection, gender-based violence response, mindfulness-raising of migration risks, protection monitoring of migration routes, and livelihoods support for returning migrants or those at-risk of migration.
Position 1: Protection Officer – Legal
Experience and specialized competencies( include years of experience)
• Minimum 2 years work experience in the legal sector, preferably in a humanitarian context;
• Previous experience working with persons of concern including refugees, internally displaced, and/ or returnees;
• Experience and familiarity with Ethiopia’s judicial system;
• Familiarity with transnational laws focusing on IDP and refugee rights;
• Understanding of protection principles and protection minimum standards;
• High level of a particular initiative, logical and problem-solving skill;
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain working relationships across the organization.
• Commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Office package.

Position 2: Protection Assistant – Legal
Experience and specialized competencies( include years of experience)
• Excellent Knowledge of civil and Indigenous laws
• Minimum of 1- year experience in philanthropic protection or law enforcement offices
• Specialized understanding of core protection concepts, prevention, and response strategies in line with stylish practices and ethical data collection and protection protocols.
• Experience in identifying and responding to the requirements of particularly vulnerable individuals or people of concern based on protection risks, age, gender, and diversity criteria;
• Integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to consistently meet deadlines under pressure;
• Commitment to learning and implementing organizational policies and procedures;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel; proficiency in Kobo and other data collection/ analysis tools desirable

• University degree in social work, social science, law, or other applicable field from a recognized institution.
LANGUAGE( indicate fluency level)
• Excellent skills in speaking, reading, and writing English, and Somali

Position 3: Peace Building Assistant
Experience and specialized competencies( include years of experience)
• At least one year of professional experience in an analogous position.
• Good command of English( written, read, and spoken).
• Good computer skills( MS Word and MS Excel); suitable to work under pressure.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Experience and willingness to travel to field location.
• Self-motivated and suitable to work with a minimum of guidance and supervision.
• Applicable NGO experience is preferable.

• BSc degree or Diploma in Peace Studies, Conflict Management, Social Studies, or related fields.
