Job Description
About Dodai Dodai Manufacturing Plc (Dodai), is a recently incorporated organization launched in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on August 01, 2023. Dodai is a fast-growing organization with a mission of making e-mobility accessible to everyone in Africa through its innovative products and services. Dodai plans to provide brand-new electric two-wheelers by assembling them here in Addis Ababa and plans to expand to major indigenous cities in Ethiopia by the end of 2024. It’s thus looking to engage dynamic Ethiopian talent to ensure the achievement of its goals.
Purpose of the position
The product Optimization Engineer at Dodai is responsible for making the production line smooth. S/ he will focus on ergonomics, optimizing production processes, and nonstop improvements of the production line to make it safe, effective, and effective.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and apply data acquisition systems for production metrics, similar to cycle time, first pass yield, and defect rate.
- Initiate & execute specialized projects that reduce inefficiencies( including but not limited to using software to design and fabricate tools, automated component transport styles, wiles, adjusting assembly processes, suggesting workstation and factory layout changes).
- Continuously analyze the production process and identify areas of improvement
- Monitor and measure the impact of optimization efforts on production metrics.
- Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations and tasks to identify implicit inefficiencies
- Collaborate with the EHS officer to Design and implement ergonomic solutions to improve worker posture, and reduce fatigue and injuries
- estimate the day-to-day activities on the production line and take the necessary actions to improve it continuously
- Collaborate with other associates to optimize workforce and equipment application
- Educate employees on effective techniques and tools and monitor their performance. Perform other production tasks if required.
- Stay up-to-date on the rearmost industry trends and stylish practices in E2W and E3W manufacturing.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in artificial engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing sector, preferably in E2W, E3W, and vehicle manufacturing
Minimum of 1 year experience in a related position - Strong understanding of spare manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong Rapid Prototyping using software like Siemens NX, AutoCad & Solidworks
- Strong English communication skills
- Very good understanding of vehicle manufacturing efficiency and tooling
- Thorough understanding of ergonomic principles and stylish practices
- Strong logical and problem-solving skills
- Good calculation and fine skills
- Hands-on work approach.
- Strong ability to use common tools( jigs, saws, wrenches, etc.) and use steel, wood, and plastics for fabrication.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Logic Programming skills( Arduino or others) would be a plus
