The Ethiopian Red Cross Society( ERCS) was established in 1935 and is one of the oldest and largest humanitarian organizations in Ethiopia. ERCS provides services to communities affected by natural and manmade disasters through the provision of emergency responses, ambulance and first aid, family reunification, essential drugs, water and sanitation, and other humanitarian services. ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. Currently the ERCS has a structure conforming of 12 Regional Offices, 34 Zonal Branches and 131 quarter/ Woreda Branches, 599 Woreda Red Cross Committee and 5871 Kebele Red Cross committees.
Position 1: Communication and Dissemination Expert
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction and supervision Regional Head, plans and coordinates the disseminations and communications activities of the indigenous Office; coordinates with HQ applicable work unit in the communication and dissemination activities; assists zonal branch dissemination and communication efforts and builds the capacity of zonal branch experts who are engaged in dissemination and communication activities;
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Directly responsible to the Regional Head and shall have the following major functional duties.
- plans and coordinates the disseminations and communications conditioning of the indigenous Office;
- Disseminates and promotes the abecedarian principles, Red Cross Values and Vision and charge of the National Society;
- Undertakes, in collaboration with work units and elderly experts, trainings, awareness creation and dispersion conditioning of the RCRC history, abecedarian principles, volunteerism, ERCS activities, etc. to internal and external stakeholders, at HQ and branch level through the applicable tools and media( events, campaigns, in and out door sessions);
- Attends meetings and social functions and events, and uses skill in communication( PR) ways to obtain desired out comes in disseminations and dispatches;
- Assists zonal branch dissemination and communication efforts and builds the capacity of zonal branch experts who are engaged in dissemination and communication activities; assistances in the organization of forums, events, days, anniversaries and field visits, that farther enhance the Society’s goodwill and favorable publicity;
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Alternate/ First degree Public Relations and Political Science, Peace and Security, Foreign Policy and Diplomacy, International Law, Public Management, Journalism & Communication, Foreign Language, Literature, Public Administration and Management, Social work Sociology/ Social Psychology Social Anthropology/ Governance and Development Studies

Position 2: ERCS- South Addis Ababa Zonal Coordination Branch Head
JOB SUMMARY-
Under the direction and supervision of the Zonal Branch governing Board and Regional Branch Head the Zonal Branch Head plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the overall activities of the Zonal Branch of the Society; coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the overall activities of the zonal branch; follows up and facilitates the timely preparation and submission of regular and exceptional reports by the woreda branch; based on delegated power administer and directs fiscal and procurement activities of the zonal branch; ensures that effective, effective and responsible systems are in placed with in the zonal and woreda branches; prepares the periodic plan and budget of zonal branch;
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and controls the overall activities of the Zonal Branch of the Society; Ensures that the provisions of the charter and rules deduced thereof, programs, procedures and guidelines, and decisions made by the RC/ RC movement, and the leadership of the NS are effectively implemented in the zonal and woreda branches;
- Coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the overall activities of the zonal branch; follow up and facilitates the timely preparation and submission of regular and exceptional reports by the woreda branch;
- Based on delegated power administer and directs fiscal and procurement activities of the zonal branch; Coordinates and controls woreda branches and take corrective measures grounded on the applicable rules of the NS;
- Ensures that effective, effective, and responsible systems are placed within the zonal and woreda Branches; Ensures that materials and fixed assets of the Society found in the zonal branches are properly administered and employed for their intended purpose;
- prepares the periodic plan and budget of the zonal branch; consolidates and incorporates woreda branch offices periodic plan and budget submit to the indigenous branch; Hires, administers, and fires all employees of the zonal and woreda branch offices;

JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of Regional/ Zonal branch Head, ICT and EOC Senior Expert, follows up EOC, activities of the branch in accordance with the policies and procedures in place; operates the Branch Emergency Operation Center( EOC) to provide an informed for decision making and action on emergency preparedness, response and recovery functions at branch level;
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Coordinates EOC service intervention need assessment activities of the branch in accordance with the policies and procedures in place by the Society;
- Operates the branch Emergency Operation Center( EOC) to organize factual information for decision makers and to take an action on emergency preparedness, response and recovery functions at a strategic level;
- Responsible for the operation of the branch EOC and report the branches emergency response assessment and assistance request to Disaster Preparedness and Response at HQ through the EOC of HQ.
- Collects, organizes, analyses and reports critical disaster incident information and data for use by branch management and HQ decision makers through EOC of HQ; Tackles problems and handles issues referred to him her from head of the branch and implementing units and staffs.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Alternate/ first degree in Computer Engineering/ Software Engineering/ Management Information System/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Information Science
- 6/8 year work experience
