Position 1: Value chain and business development expert
The Position (General Position Summary)
The expert will work closely with stakeholders to strengthen value chains, foster the inclusion of vulnerable populations into financial systems, and design innovative financing mechanisms to create sustainable profitable opportunities. By facilitating platforms for information exchange between communities and businesses, the expert will support refugees, internally displaced persons( IDPs), returnees, and host communities in structure adaptability and contributing to original profitable development.

Qualifications and skills
• Master’s Degree in economics, or business studies, or a applicable, directly related discipline, or, in its absence, original applicable professional experience of minimal 10 years.
General professional experience
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in support to value chains development in Sub Saharan Africa;
• An excellent verbal and written command of English is required.

Position 2: migration and forced displacement
Minimum Qualification & transmittable Skills
Qualifications and skills
• Master’s Degree in development studies, or social anthropology, or sociology, or political sciences, or migration studies, or a applicable, directly affiliated discipline, or, in its absence, original applicable professional experience of minimal 10
General professional experience
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in assignments with governments or development partners in promoting Durable Solutions for forcibly displaced people and in migration issues;
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in premonitory services or project management in Sub- Saharan Africa. Applicable experience in Ethiopia would be an advantage;
• An excellent verbal and written command of English is
Specific professional experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience on producing context, political, conflict and environmental analysis of refugee/ host community relations and programming;
• Minimum 3 years of experience( even in different assignments) on mixed migration( refugees, IDPs, internal and external migration flows including root causes of migration) affiliated issues
• Minimum 3 years of experience( indeed in different assignments) in designingre-integration pathways for returnees with a focus on socio-economic opportunities and/ or learning pathways;
• Minimum 2 years of experience( even in different assignments) on programmes interventions engaging diaspora communities associations in colorful forms of support to their original communities;
• minimum 1 assignment on the implementation or/ and operationalisation of the HDP Nexus in the field of mixed migration flows and/ or
Durable Solutions;
• Must have conducted at least 3 assignments relating to training of officials in the field of sector reforms on reintegration of returnees, legal migration pathways for implicit migrants, socio- profitable integration of displaced population and their host communities and other applicable topics.

Living Conditions Environmental Conditions
The position is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and it may require up to 40 travel to support country programme, which may include travel to insecure locations where freedom of movement is limited and areas where amenities are limited. Housing for this role is in individual housing and staff will have access to good medical services and the living situation is of a high standard.

Position 3: Monitoring, Evaluation, Responsibility and Learning Expert
Responsibility
Reports Directly To Key Expert 1 Team Leader
Works Directly With Programme team (Key andNon-Key Experts), country leadership and heads of Finance, Operations and HR departments.
Accountability to Participants and Stakeholders
• Mercy Corps team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our program participants, community partners, other stakeholders, and to transnational standards guiding transnational relief and development work. Qualifications and skills
• Master’s Degree in statistics, economics or a applicable, directly affiliated discipline, or, in its absence, original applicable professional experience of minimum 10 years.
General professional experience
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in designing and/ or implementing MEAL systems and tools for donor- supported programmes;
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in Africa is a requirement. Applicable experience in Ethiopia would be an advantage;
• An excellent verbal and written command of English is required.
Specific professional experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience relating to MEAL in forced displacement contexts;
• Minimum 3 years of experience relating to MEAL capacity development (development of MEAL package, training, capacity structure, coaching).
