Position 13: Researcher Assistant
Scope of work
Under the guidance of senior experimenters, the Research Assistant will support the overall perpetration of the IDRC-funded Lease Financing project and other research projects led by the hiring Researcher/ s. The Research Assistant will actively engage in the identification of research opportunities, offer development, data analysis, and writing of research reports. The Research Assistant will also have dedicated time for mentorship and particular capacity building guided by senior researchers. Specifically, some of the Research
The assistant’s primary responsibilities include
Serve as a bridge between survey field teams and senior researchers during design perpetration
Facilitate survey team training and organize logistics in collaboration with senior researchers
Conduct data cleaning and primary data analysis as requested by elderly researchers
Provide specialized assistance in the identification of implicit research opportunities from different sources
Provide specialized backing in the medication of draft research proposals for openings linked
establishing and sharing all the lessons and challenges across different projects
Provide recommendations of action plans on perceived and realized challenges throughout the project periods
Liaise with pivotal government offices focal persons and other partners to secure required support and engagements
Actively engage in particular development activities including reporting writing, language development, and data analysis.
Job Requirement
Requirements
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in economics. An advanced degree in Economics is profitable
minimal accretive GPA of 3.5.
At least two years of working experience, preferably in profitable research and data management
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to manage work (self-reliant)
Fluency in English, Amharic, and other original languages is an advantage
Strong communication skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively and sensitively in teams and with different counterparts. Must work independently under high pressure in a grueling environment while always maintaining a positive attitude.
Proven data collection, organization, and analysis skill is preferred even for undergraduate/ graduate thesis
High level of report and proposal writing skills in English
former exposure to statistical software and programs like Stata, and SurveyCTO is an advantage
