Position 1: Junior Professional Associate- Social Protection

Specific Unit Description – Social Protection and Jobs( SPJ)
The Social Protection and Jobs( SPJ) Global Practice( GP) of the World Bank delivers functional approaches and substantiation- grounded results to help individualities and families manage threat, manage with habitual/ transitional poverty, and access better livelihoods and jobs. These include
- Strategy, analysis, financing and design of programs delivering social safety nets social assistance in the form of cash transfers, public works programs, and fee waivers.
- Advisory and logical services on design and delivery of contributory transfers (including old- age pensions, unemployment insurance, disability and survivor benefits), and their financial sustainability (including budget support for transitions).
- Analysis, design and delivery of labor market and youth employment programs (with a focus on supply side interventions and intermediation policies), as well as policy advice on labor market regulations and interventions.
- Strategy, analysis, financing and design of integrated social protection delivery systems (e.g., payments, identification, registries, systems assessments) as underpinnings of effective social programs that can help cope with climatic shocks or underpin financial reforms.
- The SPJ GP has a large portfolio in Ethiopia, which includes flagship safety net and jobs programs in the form of the Strengthen Ethiopia’s Adaptive Safety Net Project (SEASN), and the Urban Productive Safety Net Project( UPSNP).
- The SEASN and UPSNJP were created as social protection mechanisms with a strong focus on productive inclusion. Today, they support9.7 million beneficiaries in cities and the poorest regions of the country. Their focus is increasingly on livelihood andmicro-entrepreneurship development, as well as on jobs for youth, particularly in civic areas.

Position 2: Professional Associate- Digital Development
- Master’s degree in telecommunications, engineering, computer science, economics, or related public policy or law with a focus on technology or ICT and related field. Also a minimum of 3 years of experience in ICT/ Digital Economy policy and regulation and/ or ICT/ Digital Economy project design and implementation – or original combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of the ecosystem ofinter-related policies, strategies, institutions, laws and regulations applicable to the ICT sector and digital transformation of economies and societies
- Strong abstract and logical skills, including ability to think strategically and innovatively about the role of digital technologies for socio- profitable development and for transformation in other sectors of the economy.
- Firm understanding of digital technologies, digital transformation of society, and digitally enabled business model trends applicable to socio- profitable development in Africa( and in particular in Eastern and Southern Africa) context and enthusiasm to stay abreast of new innovations. Experience in Fragile Conflict and Violence environment would be an additional plus.
- Good client engagement skills, taking responsibility and accountability for timely response to client queries, requests or requirements, working to remove obstacles that may stymie execution or project success.
- Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills in English (in addition to Portuguese if Mozambique based and French if Madagascar based as fresh favored languages). Solid presentation skills, using charts, graphs and other data presentation techniques appropriately to communicate data, specialized information, or complex concepts tonon-specialists in a clear, fluently accessible and effective manner.
- Strong drive for results, taking particular ownership and accountability to meet deadlines and achieve agreed- upon results.
- Strong business judgment and logical decision making, analyzing facts and data to support sound and logical business decisions.
- Proven ability to function effectively as a team member ofmulti-disciplinary teams.

Position: 3 IT Analyst Customer Services
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 2 years applicable experience OR original combination of education and experience
- Excellent Windows desktops, VPNs, and Apple mobile devices supporting skills.

Position 4 Senior IT analyst Client services
- Bachelor’s degree with no experience required or original combination of education and applicable experience.
- Good Knowledge of IT Technologies Windows Platform, Microsoft Office, MFD, Servers, Smartphonesetc.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work under pressure with accuracy and professionalism. Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS service and other networking methods and technologies.
