The role is aligned with the African Union Liaison Office Partnership Strategy and aligned with the objectives of the MoU signed between the AU.  

Position 1 Multi sector response manager  

Qualification and Knowledge for the role 

  • The job holder needs to have MSc or BSc educational background in 
  • Disaster Risk management or 
  • Environmental Engineering or 
  • health planning and management or 
  • development studies.  

Required Experience

Applicable required experience 4 Year experience for MSc and 6 years for BSc on applicable project/ program experience of emergency project managements in an international NGO or related organization, preferably emergency WASH, Shelter and/ or Education in Emergency operations 

  • Rich experiences and skills in coordinating and managingmulti-sector systems in the region 
  • Experienced in leading a number of  brigades ofmulti-sector experts (multi-sector platoon members or experts) 
  • Good understanding of education and school- based protection activities 
  • Coordination skills, report writing 
  • Rich experience in field operations   
  • Conversant in teamwork and commitment 
  • Experienced in organizational representation with the government and other partners( cluster attendance) 
  • Experienced in field- level requirements assessment for more funding opportunities

Position 2 Shelter and NFI Officer  

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification 

  • University Degree in Engineering; –(e.g. Civil, hydraulic, Construction Management a related field), or an original Shelter and NFIs in humanitarian experience. 
  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and spoken) with ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively with senior internal and external stakeholders.  

KNOWLEDGE/ QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE  

Required Professional Experience 

  • Experience in implementation of Shelter and NFI activities 
  • Humanitarian field experience with substantial exposure to aid agencies ’ 
  • At least three 2 years’ experience in implementing shelter and infrastructure projects in humanitarian  environment and former involvement in implementation processes (including development of bill of quantities, analysis of original capacity and original markets, cost estimations and provision of cash for rentetc.) 
  • Travel and/ or Work Environment

Requirement 

  • This position requires regular travel between Kebeles and village- based travel  

Physical Requirements 

  • Candidates require a high level of physical and internal fitness particularly within high- risk environments
