Position 2: Senior Construction Project Manager
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible to the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the construction of the headquarters building project office and managing its contracts. The Senior Project Manager has the following specific duties, but not limited to
Execute, follow up, communicate, and decide on project activities, progress, and any encounters within the scope of the contract.
Grease, coordinate, and manage design review work, emendations, and changes within the compass of the contract.
Check, make a professional evaluation, and review contractual issues, fiscal( payment) issues, work variations, and escalation issues; also, forward a memo to the CEO with expert opinion and recommendations for a decision.
Execute, manage, cover, and make diurnal decisions, communications, or correspondence for all matters within the contract with the consultant and contractor as per the contract in consultation with the CEO where required.
Manage all specialized issues encountered on a daily or frequent basis throughout the design within the design budget and schedule.
Conduct a daily, regular common meeting with the consultant and contractor on the project site or project office and evaluate the progress of the project against the schedule, identify any challenges or encounters, and propose a rectifying or remedial solution to avoid any delay or cost escalation.
Lead and facilitate negotiations of claims, variations, changes, and disputes with the consultant or contractor.
Evaluate project compliance with the contracts.
Evaluate and monitor all contractual issues regularly.
Evaluate contract performance reports regularly.
Plan and implement the risk management process.
Ensure that the project activities are as per the schedule and contractual budget.
Prepare an action plan and implement it for the successful delivery of the project.
Manage and ensure that the quality, cost, and time of the contract project are achieved.
Check and review payment requests within the contract, verify, and present to the CEO for approval.
Check and verify variations and changes within the contract and present to the CEO for blessing.
Check, estimate, and review contractual issues, financial( payment) issues, work variations, and escalation issues and present them to the CEO for approval.
Produce and submit a yearly report to the CEO about the status of the project.
Carries out any other affiliated duties assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
Minimum Qualification, Work Experience, and Certification
BSC/ MSC degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field with 12/10 times of experience in project management for construction projects out of which five years of building construction project management experience in the construction industry combined with building construction specialties similar to structural design, finishing and home enhancement, etc., managing budget and schedules
A Master’s or postgraduate degree in project management is advantageous
Certifications Certifications like Project Management Certification would be a plus.
Skills in engineering tools and techniques;
Able to understand specialized design and reporting methods.
