CASCADE Programme Associate 

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN)  About the job The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition( GAIN) is seeking for a CASCADE Programme Associate to provide  functional,  executive, and coordination support to the GAIN CASCADE programme across six countries. This role will be offered on fixed- term contract of over to 3 years ’, subject to availability of funding. This position is open to GAIN’s country offices in Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria or Mozambique.

About the Role

The (Catalyzing Strengthened Policy Action for Healthy Diets and Resilience) CASCADE programme thing is to improve food security and contribute to the reduction of malnutrition of at least 5 million women of reproductive age and children in Benin, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Mozambique.

The CASCADE programme has two strategic objectives 1 To increase access to and consumption of healthy diets among household members in the six programme countries, particularly women of reproductive age and children. Strategic objective 2 To increase resilience to price and climate change- related shocks and stresses of household members in the six programme countries, particularly women of reproductive age and children. CASCADE programme will operate in six countries until December 2026.

Supporting the Programme Lead you'll keep track of the countries project status, challenges, opportunities, stories, and timely delivery of projects across the countries.

The role will provide functional,  executive, and coordination support to the GAIN CASCADE programme.

Key Responsibilities include;  

• Providing support to the planning, perpetration, monitoring and reporting processes of CASCADE projects.  

• Supporting the quality and timely delivery of countries projects by ensuring design managers are well informed of processes, deadlines and requirements and connected with applicable resources from away in GAIN.  

• Contributing to the  shadowing of CASCADE  design workplan conditioning on an ongoing base and escalating any issues and challenges to Programme Lead to ensure resolution.  

• Assisting in drafting internal dispatches and ensuring good communication within programme team across countries.  

• Supporting coordination between country teams, specialized teams and professional services to contribute to the effective operation and delivery of the CASCADE programme.  

• Contributing to a culture of  collective  responsible partnership with other teams within GAIN and CARE that supports CASCADE programme implementation.  

Tasks and Responsibilities  

Program collaboration and administration  

• Provide support to planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting processes of CASCADE systems.  

• Support the applicable platoon members in the medication, updating and filing of project  documents including PRISM and progress reporting (led by DO).  

• Support the quality and timely delivery of countries systems by ensuring design managers are  well informed of processes, deadlines and requirements and connected with applicable resources  from away in GAIN.  

• Contribute to the tracking of CASCADE project workplan conditioning on an ongoing base and  escalate any issues and challenges to Programme Lead to ensure resolution.  

• Support work to coordinate and synergize efforts of GAIN and CARE across countries, and between GAIN and CARE within countries as needed.  

• Contribute to the development of CASCADE  platoon capacity building and retreat  dockets, including planning and association, and supportingcross-programme andcross-country literacy.  

• Develop and manage a team travel and milestone calendar.  

• Support design logistics and organization of field trips general travel, team  meetings shops calls, and trainings –  nearly and in person.  

• Provide executive backing to Programme Lead, including  trip arrangements.  

• Assist new CASCADE team members in overall onboarding.  

• Support in aligning CASCADE project activities with other systems( including other Dutch  backing) across countries.

Internal and institute Communications  

• Assist in drafting internal communications, and ensuring good communication within  programme team across countries  

• Coordinate for timely reporting, PRISM updates and review meetings with country  design  teams and Programme Lead.  

• Updates to GAIN and CARE team members about new  platoon members and other important  information.  

• Respond to the information requirements of other GAIN  brigades.  

• Manage the team SharePoint runner

Relationship management  

• Support coordination between country teams, specialized teams and professional services to  contribute to the effective management and delivery of the CASCADE programme.  

• Work nearly with CARE platoon.  

JOB Requirements 

Compitencies

• Strong design operations management, executive, networking and communication skills  

• largely motivated with the ability to work singly and suitable to deliver high quality work and achieve milestones within tight deadlines.  

• Flexible and well organized, quick to learn  

• Good team player,  suitable to work effectively as part of a multilateral, distributed team  

• Strong written and verbal communication and  donation skills, including a proven ability to  communicate different and  distant information and messaging in simple and  terse formats.  

• Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint skills with proven experience  

Education  

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, transnational relations, communication or another related field.  

Other requirements  

• Business English, written and verbal is essential.  

• Business French, written and verbal will be preferable.  

• Willingness and ability to travel within and outside of the country.

• The starting payment for each office is as follows, depending on experience
