Position FIELD HUMANITARIAN ASSOCIATE

Organizational Context
- Under the overall steerage and supervision of the OCHA Head of sub-office, Amhara area and the National Humanitarian Officer NHAO in Dessie, the Field Humanitarian Associate assists with the implementation of field coordination, philanthropic entry, and issues referring to the administration of safety for OCHA personnel within the area of the project.
III. Key Functions Responsibilities
Working under the general supervision of OCHA’s Head of sub-workplace in the Amhara area the incumbent will
- Support National Humanitarian Affairs Officers (NHAOs) in conducting information collection throughout introductory assessments of vulnerability to emergencies in their designated zone of Amhara. The incumbent, under NHAO supervision, will also help Humanitarian Affairs Officers (HAOs) in taking notes throughout coordination conferences with UN agencies, NGOs, authorities, and/ or companions as required.
- Assist HAOs in gathering information and experiences on rising reduction wants, in addition to the arrival, transportation, and distribution of emergency help to crisis-affected areas.
- Provide verbal and written briefings to National and International Humanitarian Affairs Officers upon returning from discipline visits, addressing any particular points as required to assist HAOs in drafting mission experiences.
- Assist HAOs in making ready for meetings, conferences, and/ or coaching seminars as wanted.
- Assist HAOs in organizing and facilitating discipline missions of OCHA workers, donors, and other guests, briefing them on the general philanthropic state of affairs and the actions of OCHA and different philanthropic businesses within the designated zone.
- Assist HAOs by maintaining the calendar and attendance within the ensuing duties Engage and keep a dialogue with safety actors.
- Provide translation from Amharic to English throughout conferences with crucial native authorities and safety actors.
- Perform different duties as could also be required by the International Humanitarian Affairs Officer.

JOB REQUIREMENT
- Qualification Secondary education is required. A University Degree is desirable, not a requirement.
Experience
- minimum six years of directly applicable working experience in risk management or evaluation, ideally in the safety environment or related field of work for Secondary education, and three years for BA/ BSc degree holders.
- Experience with the UN or a world NGO and conversant in the safety actors in the Amhara region is desirable.
- Understanding of Field coordination, and philanthropic entry. Understanding of the philanthropic Civil-military Collaboration is desirable.
Language Requirements Fluency in English and the original language is required,
