World Vision Ethiopia began its first intervention in Ethiopia in 1971 with relief and opened the Ethiopia office in 1975. Relief, rehabilitation, and small community development projects dominated the following decade. During the 1984/85 drought, World Vision Ethiopia participated in a massive relief operation that saved the lives of millions of people.
Starting its operation with emergency intervention in some parts of Ethiopia, World Vision currently operates in 53 Area Programs( APs) implementing effective programs, similar as Education, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene( WASH), Nutrition, Emergency Response, Faith and Development, Food Security, Economic Development, Climate change, and environmental projects and other cross-cutting programs.
Position 1: Peace Building Officer
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
• BA degree in applicable disciplines – similar to peace and conflict, Development studies, transnational development, refugee rights, displacement, and migration – applicable for leading a peace structure and social cohesion in refugee and internally displaced people contexts.
Required Professional Experience
• Applicable specialized expertise and considerable( at least 3 years) practical experience in applying peace structure approaches and further than 3 years in leadership.
• Considerable experience( at least 2 years) in design and implementation of relief and development in applicable fields in Ethiopia
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
• BA degree in applicable disciplines – similar to peace and conflict, Development studies, transnational development, refugee rights, displacement, and migration – applicable for leading peacebuilding and social cohesion in refugee and internally displaced people contexts.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
• Ability to work with original organizations and actors with knowledge about and experience from the applicable context, to utilize and ensure their capacity and nonstop capacity development, and to otherwise adapt ways of working accordingly.
• Management skills, necessary to meet project requirements in terms of collaboration, coherence, and consistency of project implementation, fiscal management, monitoring, and reporting.
Travel and/ or Work Environment Requirement
• The position requires the ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 20 of the time and on call 20

Knowledge/ Qualification for the role
Required Professional Experience
• 7 years of experience in HR Business Partnering or related specialist role.
• INGO experience working in field operations and difficulty locales.

• Outstanding people and customer relationship skills.

• HEAT( hostile environment awareness training) and SRMT( security risk management training) or a UN equivalent
• Enterprise Risk Management Training
• Certification in trauma counseling or certain introductory training in this area
• Adult Safeguarding Training
• Understanding/ Training in original labor law
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
• A leadership certificate in Human Resources, Management, or its equivalent is an added advantage.
• Applicable experience in mortal resources and related activities at the supervisor level is an added advantage.
• Must have problem-solving skills and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of internal policies, labor legislation, and HR laws.
• Ability to maintain performance expectations in highly demanding situations.
• Thorough knowledge of MS Office and Lotus Notes.
• A married Christian who can give Christian leadership.
• Proper knowledge of certain aspects of the partnership office.

Required Professional Experience
• 5 Years of expansive exposure to food aid programs( minimum 3 years) & knowledge of goods & logistics operations, preferably within Food Assistance Operation, specifically those that relate to food distributions, warehousing, reporting, tracking, monitoring, etc
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
• MA/ MSc or BA/ BSc Degree in Food Science, Agric. Econ, Disaster Management, Rural Development and other related fields
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
• Strong knowledge and working understanding of Emergency Food resource management;
• Demonstrated capacity to lead the team with analogous scope of work;
• Experience in food backing programing, subventions project management, request assessment and Analysis, Cash transfer programming, performance management, project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and report writing.
• Good understanding of Humanitarian Responsibility norms
• Good knowledge of original context

• Ability to work in high-tension and high-security risk situations
• Ability to work in and contribute to the team building environment
• Experience and knowledge of USAID-funded emergency food assistance projects, Red Cross Code of Conduct, SPHERE Standard, and HAP
