Position 1: Senior Program Manager
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
• A strong and believable leader, who delivers through others.
• A strong understanding of FCDO Program and Project Operation (PPM) processes, procedures, and stylish practices, including the PrOF.
• Experience of delivering complex programs in an access-constrained and FCAS context.
• The individual possesses the resilience to manage multiple projects and programs concurrently, while also demonstrating the ability to take the initiative and manage their own workload.
• Proven financial and risk management knowledge to support effective program delivery.
• Ability to work with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external, and challenge implementing partners when required.
• Effective line management and commitment to particular development of team members to build ability within the program delivery profession.
• Expert written & spoken English
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
• Experience working in or on Sudan
• Proficiency in the Arabic language.
• Completion of FCDO’s Practitioner Level Accreditation or evidence of practitioner-level design delivery qualifications (APM's Project Management Qualification, PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP, PMI PM Professional or others)
Salary: USD 2,198.28 (base salary is subject to tax and other statutory deductions)
Position 2: Deputy Country Director SEO, Department for Business and Trade
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
• Postgraduate degree and/or undergraduate degree and other applicable professional qualifications
• Experience of supporting businesses to win marketable opportunities.
• Applicable professional work experience in the private sector, or within a private-sector-orientated part of Government or an international organization
• Experience of working in or with government departments, NGOs, and analogous institutions
• Proven track record of leadership as well cross-team collaboration
• Proven customer-facing experience, for example, with an investment promotion agency or professional services firm.
• Fluency in the language of business and investment
• A positive, flexible, and adaptable “can-do" attitude that can see its way through challenges.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to work successfully in multicultural teams and across boundaries, to build networks across the region
• Excellent drafting skills
• Fluency in English and Amharic
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
• Experience of the following: business development, understanding issues and developing and pursuing strategies together, investment appraisal, deal pipeline preparation, deal brokering, premonitory
• Knowledge of the UK and Ethiopian profitable and business environment.
• Experience in managing budgets
• Knowledge of the investment services contract and delivery mechanisms
• Knowledge/experience of transnational development, or a willingness to learn
