Islamic Relief is an international relief and development charity founded in 1984 with its headquarters in Birmingham, UK. As well as responding to disasters and emergencies, Islamic Relief promotes sustainable profitable and social development by working with original communities – regardless of race, religion or gender. The office officially started its operation in Ethiopia in 2004. Islamic Relief Ethiopia( IRE) is functional in the Somali Regional State with a base office in Hargelle, Elkere, Bare and Dekasuftu, Afar Regional State; Ewa and Gulina, Oromia Regional State; Borena, Chiro and Meayso and an additional more functional office in Addis Ababa.
Position 1: Procurement Officer
Formal Education/ Qualification and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in management, Business Management, Supplies Management or related fields with 5 years of work experience.
- Proven experience in Logistics and Procurement Management preferably in INGO.
Skills and Competences
- Negotiations, Supplier Relationship Management skills.
- Must have high ethical standards and suitable to plan, prioritize and organize self and others.
- Good IT skills, MS Office applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – builds good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good verbal and spoken communication skills in English and Amharic.
- Ability to manage a complex and demanding workload with flexible behavior.
- Commitment to philanthropic principles and action.
Duty Station Addis Ababa
Position 2: Logistics and Admin Officer
Formal Education/ Qualification and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in management, Supply Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
- 4 years of applicable work experience in related positions preferable in INGO NGO settings.
Required Skills Competencies
- Strategic thinker – proven ability to translate strategic plans into action.
- Decisiveness with excellent judgement
- Excellent interpersonal skills – build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communications in English. Original language( Afan Oromo) is preferable.
- suitable to plan, prioritize and organize self and others.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
- Ability to manage a complex and demanding workload with flexible behavior.
- Must have high ethical standards and suitable to plan, prioritize and organize self and others.
- Commitment to philanthropic principles and action
- Competence in MS Office
