The United Mission in Addis Ababa/ Ethiopia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Program Specialist Regional Refugee fellow Specialist and General conservation Worker – All Interested Applicants All Sources.  

Position 1 Program Specialist Regional Refugee Coordinator Specialist  

Qualifications and Evaluations 

Grade LE 8 is a minimal three years of progressively responsible experience in refugee, internal displacement, migration, humanitarian assistance,  philanthropic affairs, U.S or foreign government, social services, development assistance, or journalism in an international association( IO), UN agency, NGO, and/ or politic mission is required. 

  • Grade LE 9 is a Minimum of four years of precipitously responsible experience in refugee, internal displacement, migration, humanitarian assistance,  philanthropic affairs, U.S or foreign government, social services, development assistance, or journalism in a transnational organization( IO), UN agency, NGO, and/ or politic mission is required. 
  • Grade LE 10 is a Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in refugee, internal relegation, migration, humanitarian assistance,  philanthropic affairs, U.S or foreign government, social services, development assistance, or journalism in a transnational organization( IO), UN agency, NGO, and/ or politic mission is required.  Note Please upload all copies of your work experience under ‘ other document ’  
  • EDUCATION Master’s degree in anthropology, business management, economics, political sciences, or transnational relations is required.

LANGUAGE 

  • Level 4( Fluent) Speaking Reading Writing English is required.( This may be tested) 
  • Level 4( Fluent) Speaking Reading Writing Amharic is required. ( This may be tested)  Support the Population, Refugees, and Migration( PRM) Regional Refugee Coordination team in oversight and management of 300 million in philanthropic assistance and migration programs for refugees, vulnerable migrants, displaced, and stateless persons in the Horn of Africa region( Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Sudan), as well as the State Department’s refugee resettlement program.  The employee monitors and evaluates U.S. assistance, provides substantial information, analysis, planning, implementation, and backing, and makes the philanthropic program, policy, and backing recommendations to the Refugee fellow platoon, U.S. Embassy Addis Ababa, and the PRM  office. The hand is responsible for cultivating connections and information flows with exile-concentrated government authorities dealing with backing and protection of deportees and host communities,  transnational association( IO)  mates, and NGO conditioning in multi-sectoral backing throughout the region.  The hand supports all substantiative and executive aspects of program management, planning, and enforcing USG  exile assistance and policy in the region, and refugee reports-related policy development. The employee reports to and is directly supervised by the elderly Refugee Coordinator, or the acting Refugee Coordinator during the elderly Refugee Coordinator's absences backs up the Refugee Coordinator on all other exile issues in the region, and serves under the broader guidance of the Pol/ Econ section counselor.  

Salary USD$ 12,764 – USD$ 35,508/ Per Year  

Position 2 General Maintenance Worker  

Qualifications and Evaluations 

EXPERIENCE A minimum of two( 2) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of plumbing and marketable or artificial HVAC/ mechanical heating, refrigeration, and ventilation systems.  Note Please upload all work experience copies of yours under “ Other Document 1 or 2 ” 

EDUCATION Completion of secondary school is required and completion of vocational training from an accredited institute recognized as producing journeyman-level technicians with specialization in the plumbing or general construction fields is required.

Evaluations  

LANGUAGE 

  • Level 3( Good working knowledge) Speaking Reading Writing Amharic is required. ( These may be tested). 
  • Level 2( Limited knowledge) Speaking Reading Writing English is required( These may be tested).  This position provides semi-skilled assistance to the specialized level positions by performing general conservation and upkeep work at the U.S. Embassy compound buildings, residences, and grounds. Responsibilities include the performance of skilled homemade tasks similar to demolition work,  oil, minor plumbing work, general cleanup of common areas, minor masonry work including filling gaps on walls, laying of bricks, repairing and/ or installing locks, and other minor precautionary maintenance tasks. This position would assist other Facility Management trade positions similar to the Electrical Maintenance Worker, HVAC Maintenance Worker, or Carpentry Maintenance Worker.  

Salary USD$ 7,893 – USD$ 7,893/ Per Year
