The World Bank Ethiopia Country Office is hiring Ethiopia. The positions are based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and open to Ethiopian citizens. The World Bank on- going energy portfolio and pipeline of  systems in Ethiopia include support for power sector reforms; investment  systems on power transmission, distribution, and grid electrification; solar mini grids & standalone solar systems for households and communities; clean cooking and  bettered chef ranges; and interconnection with neighbouring countries as part of the efforts to bring Ethiopia connected to the indigenous electricity network.  World Bank would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the  ensuing position.  

Position 1: E T Consultant  

Senior Public Sector)  Selection Criteria 

Master’s degree in applicable field (similar as public finance, account, economics, public policy, public administration) and minimum eight years of applicable work experience. 

  • Knowledge of  crucial issues in governance and Institutional development at  public and global situations and in- depth knowledge in at least one of the  ensuing areas civil service reform, domestic resource  rallying, public financial management. 
  • Substantial experience in supporting  guests develop and  apply institutional reforms. Demonstrated ability to lead policy and specialized dialogue with high position officers in government and international associations. 
  • Strong reform facilitation and customer engagement chops. 
  • Strong logical skills. 
  • Strong jotting and communication chops in English. 
  • Strong team playing ability, customer exposure, and good interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work with a different team.

Position 2: Associate Investment Officer/ Investment Officer,

Selection Criteria 

  • MBA or original qualification. 
  • At least 6 years of experience in commercial and/ or project finance with a proven track record of sourcing, structuring and closing investments. 
  • Excellent  fiscal, credit and equity skills; demonstrated ability to creatively structure a variety of complex debt and equity instruments. 
  • Expertise in working with the IFC’s Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services( MAS) and/ or Financial Institutions Groups (FIG) industries. 
  • Experience in Africa FCS countries. 
  • Strong passion for sustainable profitable development. Knowledge of and a demonstrated track record of working in impact investing will be a distinct advantage. 
  • Familiarity with nonsupervisory and profitable inclusion challenges for underprivileged groups will be a plus. 
  • Proactiveness, strong business development and  customer relationship skills, and ability to focus on customer needs effectively. 
  • Ability to interact directly and independently with the senior management of implicit clients, financial and specialized partners. 
  • Sound business judgment in  relating implicit business partners and investment opportunities. 
  • Excellent verbal and spoken communication skills in English. Ignorance in other languages( including Amharic, Somali and other languages of Ethiopia and Horn of Africa) is a plus. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues. 
  • Team player. Ability to work sensitively and effectively in a multicultural setting. Takes particular responsibility and responsibility for timely response to customer queries, requests or requirements, working to remove obstacles that may impede execution or overall success. 
  • Strong passion in sustainable  profitable development. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail. 
  • Strong research and quantitative skills. 
  • Strong computer skills to develop user-friendly/ punchy analyses presentations (word, excel, and powerpoint).
