DigafMicro-Finance Institution is a registered financial service company determined to transform the way financial services are delivered to everyone. Digaf has been providing short and medium- term financing to individualities and small enterprises in Ethiopia for further than a decade. Digaf’s platoon is continuously looking for innovative, technology-based, and effective means for clients to access fiscal solutions. The company therefore looks at different ways of serving individuals who are excluded from financial services with the knowledge and information they've readily available for a credit appraisal. 

Position 1: Paid Intern Mobile and Integration Developer 

Qualification 
 • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 
 • Strong understanding of mobile development concepts for both Android and iOS platforms. 
 • Familiarity with mobile programming languages similar to Java, Kotlin, Swift, or Objective- C. 
 • introductory experience with mobile frameworks and libraries like React Native, Flutter, or Xamarin is a plus. 
 • Knowledge of integrating mobile applications with back-end services using peaceful APIs, web services, or analogous technologies. 
 • Familiarity with version control systems( e.g., Git) and  cooperative development practices. 
 • Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize mobile applications for performance and functionality. 
 • Excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies and development tools. 
 • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a visionary station toward teamwork. 
 • former internship or project experience related to mobile development or software integration is a bonus. 

Position 2: Retail Manager 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Operations 
 o Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring the smooth delivery of services similar to micro-loans, savings products, and other financial services. 
 o Manage the operations to meet business goals, ensuring customer service excellence and functional efficiency. 
 o Ensure compliance with the company’s policies, nonsupervisory requirements, and fiscal laws. 

2. Team Management & Leadership 
 o Lead, manage, and develop staff, ensuring they're motivated, productive, and trained in all areas of the operation, including loan products, customer service, and fiscal compliance. 
 o Conduct performance appraisals, set individual pretensions, and provide coaching and mentoring. 
 o Coordinate recruitment, scheduling, and training of new team members. 

3. Customer Relationship Management 
 o Build and maintain strong connections with customers, particularly within underserved communities. 
 o Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback instantly and effectively, ensuring high customer satisfaction. 
 o Ensure the branch provides substantiated, accessible, and transparent financial services. 

4. Loan Disbursement & Collections 
 o Oversee loan disbursement processes and ensure that all loans are approved, disbursed, and repaid in line with company guidelines. 
 o Monitor loan portfolios, ensuring timely collections and low default rates. 
 o Develop strategies to manage and reduce loan delinquency,  enforcing collection practices where necessary. 

5. Sales & Business Development 
 o Drive customer acquisition and revenue growth through targeted marketing and outreach programs. 
 o Identify opportunities for new fiscal products or services tailored to the community’s needs. 
 o Monitor competitors and market trends to ensure they remain competitive. 

6. Financial Performance & Reporting 
 o Monitor branch fiscal performance, including loan book size, profitability, and functional costs. 
 o Prepare and review regular fiscal and performance reports, providing insights to elderly management. 
 o Ensure popular targets are met and branch expenses are controlled. 

7. Risk & Compliance Management 
 o Ensure all operations comply with legal, nonsupervisory, and internal programs. 
 o Assess and manage risks related to lending, including evaluating borrower creditworthiness and market conditions. 
 o Maintain accurate records and ensure proper documentation for audits and compliance purposes. 

8. Community Outreach & Financial Literacy 
 o Promote fiscal knowledge programs and workshops to enhance the community’s understanding of fiscal services. 
 o Represent the microfinance institution at original events, conferences, and community meetings to build brand awareness and trust. 

Key Requirements 

Experience 
 o Proven experience as a Retail Manager, Branch Manager, or analogous role in a microfinance or fiscal services environment. 
 o Experience in managing loan portfolios, collections, and customer service in the microfinance sector is preferred. 
 o Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and financial goals. 
 • Education 
 o Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications in microfinance are an advantage.

 o Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in deposit mobilization, retail banking, or microfinance. 
 o Strong understanding of microfinance and deposit products. 
 o Experience in team management and customer relationship management.  

Skills and Competencies 
 o Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. 
 o Excellent verbal and spoken communication abilities. 
 o Analytical allowing with the ability to translate data into practicable insights. 
 o Good understanding of nonsupervisory and compliance requirements in the financial sector. 
 Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 
 o High level of attention to detail and organizational skills. 

Position 4: Senior KYC Officer

Qualifications and Skills 
 • Education Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field. 
 • Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in KYC, AML, supervision, or compliance roles, within the microfinance or financial services industry. Former experience in managing KYC/ AML teams is highly desirable.  

Skills 
 o Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
 o Analytical mindset with attention to detail. 
 o Proficiency in KYC/ AML software and Microsoft Office tools. 
 o Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Position 5: Head of Green Financing

Required Qualifications 
 • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or an affiliated field. 
 • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial services, with at least 2 years of experience in loan administration, customer service, or related operations. 
 • Knowledge of green financing, sustainability, or environmental-related  fiscal products( e.g., renewable energy, electric vehicles, etc.) is a plus. 
 • Strong understanding of loan documentation, disbursement, and collection processes. 
 • Proficiency in fiscal software and MS Office Suite. 
 • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills. 
 • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. 
 • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 

Preferred Qualifications 
 • Experience in microfinance, green financing, or sustainable finance. 
 • Knowledge of applicable public and transnational environmental regulations. 
 • Fluency in English and original languages like Amharic and Afaan Oromo is desirable. 

Position 6: Senior Credit Controller 

Purpose of the part 
 • The Senior Credit Controller is responsible for managing and reducing overdue accounts, preparing detailed reports on credit performance, and ensuring the smooth operation of the credit process. The role focuses on effective debt collection,  customer communication, and maintaining compliance with Digaf’s credit policies.

Key Responsibilities 
 1. Default Management 
 • Monitor and manage loan portfolios to ensure timely payments and minimize overdue accounts. 
 • Follow up with clients for overdue payments via phone, email, or in-person visits, as necessary. 
 • Conduct regular reviews of loan accounts, identifying implicit risks of non-payment and implementing visionary measures. 
 • Monitor overdue accounts and initiate collection strategies to minimize defaults. 
 • Contact tardy customers, negotiate repayment plans, and resolve payment issues promptly. 
 • Work closely with legal advisors on escalating-performing accounts to recovery or legal action.

 • Increased collection efficiency and reduction in debtor days. 

Qualifications and Experience 
 • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields. 
 • 3 years of experience in credit control, debt collection, or accounts delinquent management. 
 • Strong understanding of credit policies, Ethiopian financial regulations, and debt recovery processes. 
 • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
