Digaf Micro Finance Provider is seeking qualified candidates for the following job opening. Digaf MicroFinance Providers, a technology-driven microfinance institution, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ethiopian Ministry of Labor and Skills( MoLS). This collaboration will enable both parties to enhance access to affordable digital loan products for individuals with low to medium incomes. The institution aims to deliver financial assistance to those in the middle to lower-income brackets by leveraging technology within the financial sector.

Position: Intern Legal Officer  

Qualifications and Skills: 0 years of experience  

Experience in field visits and customer relations is advantageous.  

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.  

Confidence in conducting field visits and customer verifications.  

Sales-oriented with a focus on customer service.  High integrity and a commitment to data privacy and compliance.  

Strong problem-solving skills to address repayment challenges and client enterprises.  

Key Responsibilities  

  1. Loan Promotion & Client Onboarding Proactively promote DIGAF’s payday loan offerings to qualified customers.  Establish and nurture robust connections with clients.  Inform guests about loan conditions, repayment timelines, and responsible fiscal practices.  Onboard new clients through DIGAF’s verification and compliance protocols. 
  2. Customer Verification & Field Visits: Physically confirm customer information, including workplace visits. Visit clients’ workplaces to verify their job roles, seating arrangements, and colleagues.  Authenticate customer documents, including Kebele/ National ID, Employee ID, and Bank Statements.
  3. Loan Application Processing: Assess loan applications and validate submitted documentation. Determine customer eligibility for loans based on DIGAF’s credit policy. Forward complete application packages to the verification team for blessing.
  4. Loan Repayment Monitoring & Collection: Monitor assigned loan portfolio repayment schedules. Conduct regular follow-ups with clients to ensure timely repayments. Work with tardy clients to resolve repayment challenges and avoid defaults. 
  5. Delinquency Management: Take visionary steps to minimize loan delinquency. Ensure prompt collection of repayments and adherence to company collection procedures. 
  6. Customer Retention: Maintain positive ongoing relationships with existing customers. Support clients with loan renewals or additional services, encouraging retention. 
  7. Reporting & Record Management: Maintain accurate customer records and loan documents. Prepare and submit regular reports to operations officers.  Provide updates on loan origination, repayments, and delinquency cases.
