Plan International’s first operation in Ethiopia started in Lalibela, in November 1974 and is currently implementing its program in Gambella, Benishangul- Gumuz, Afar, Oromia, Amhara, SNNPR, and Addis Ababa City Administration. Plan International Ethiopia will also continue low presence in Somali and Tigray. Furthermore, if there's a public- position emergency crisis in the country Plan International Ethiopia will respond quickly, effectively, and at a significant scale, even in areas where we are n't present.
Position 1: Specialized Lead – Gender/ Social Development
Education
BA/ Master’s degree in a applicable field, for example, Gender Studies, Gender and Development, Gender and Education, Development Studies, or Sociology
At least 7 years of applicable experience which at least 3 years in directorial position with NGOs in leading programs projects or demonstrated original combination.
expansive specialized knowledge in the thematic areas of girls’ education( including knowledge of current trends in gender norms in Ethiopia), disability inclusion and child protection.
Knowledge of colorful strategies and interventions to support girls’ access, retention, progression and learning is essential
Experience in implementing community- level interventions to promote positive gender norms and girls’ education, child protection and/ or acting as a specialized advisor to similar programmes
Understanding and experience of applying an intersectional approach to girls’ education and inclusion
Strong logical skills to inbuild safeguarding protocols within education, child protection and gender programming including considerations on consent, information sharing and monitoring.and programming
Experience in conducting gender analysis with an intersectional lens, to inform evidence- based gender interventions
Strong passion and commitment to championing girls’ right to education, child protection and to grueling dangerous gender and social norms and behaviours

Position 2: Regional Lead (3x) – Within the regions of Ethiopia
Education
BA/ Master of Arts degree in education and related fields (Curriculum Studies, Educational Psychology, Educational Planning and Management, social work, sociology, and other related fields of studies).
At least 7 years of applicable experience which at least 3 years in directorial position with NGOs in leading programs projects or demonstrated original combination.
Experience in successfully delivering education programmes of analogous complexity
Ability to work effectively, collaboratively and develop formative relationships with government, at both strategic/ policy and service delivery levels including positive influencing skills.
expansive demonstrated experience in government planning and budgeting processes, as well as a strong specialized education background.
Original knowledge and networks in Ethiopia ensuring that strong working relationships are maintained with academic institutions, civil society, and other development partners.
Sufficient understanding of education delivery through different channels, and education systems reform in Ethiopia, together with an understanding of the political, artistic context and challenges in Ethiopia.
